You cannot use empty space on this drive as an external HD so match the HD size to the HD on your computer.

Works as advertised. Had a few really minor problems (kept asking me to validate the software and wouldn't find updates). Contacted Rebit support and they told me that there were a number of these sitting on retailers shelves for a while with old software. In order to fix it, I had to uninstall, download a new version and REFORMAT the drive. No big deal, but something of an inconvenience. Check with Rebit when you get yours. Better to do all this BEFORE you do your first backup. Otherwise a find product!

Big Terabite HD in the Rebit backup. Obtained the multi-pc license so I now back up 3 PCs! great price.

Installation was real easy. Runs hands free. Drive a little loud. I have 2 disk drives. Backs up the first one, both volumes, but does not find the second disk drive. Web site no help, no way to contact support so if you have problems you are on your own

I recently bought one of these after my HD failed (better late than never). I plugged it in, it installed and began backing up. So good, I failed to notice that it needed activation. It works with nearly no intervention on the part of the user. If you want to have your system instantly available in case of a failure, I recommend this drive. No issues with USB speed on my Gigabit system.
