A-DATA S805 8G Gray Flash Drive 8GB USB2.0
Cons:no indicator light
Pros:Design, built, material Comment:
This is a very well built flash drive. Very nice clip design for easy access. The metal portion is super durable and will not scratch easily. It has a bit of weight to it. If you are looking for a light flash drive, this is probably not the one. The swivel design take a bit of time to get use to, but it has 90 & 180 degree position which is very useful when plugged in laptop or side of monitor. One thing I don't like is it has no light indicator, so you can't tell if it is working. Otherwise a very good product. |

A-DATA S805 8G Gray Flash Drive 8GB USB2.0
Cons:tight fit
Pros:Design: Clip, Swivel, & Aesthetics Comment:
This is just a USB Flash Drive and functions just as one would expect it to, but what sets this model apart from the rest, is design. The sport style clip allows you to easily hook and un-hook it on to anything, belt loop, back pack, keys, etc... I use it on my key chain but because of the great clip design, I can easily un-clip it so I don't have my keys hanging from the end of my computer. Most other flash drives on the market will require you to slide it out of the key ring or have you plug your whole set of keys into the computer stressing your USB slot due to weight. The USB end swivels out with two semi-lock positions: 90 degrees and 180 degrees (The picture only shows it at 90 degrees). This is another great feature because you can slide it out a full 180 to easily plug it in and then turn it 90 degrees so that it doesn't stick out too far from the side of your laptop. It has a solid feel with just the right amount of weight to it and it looks great! The only thing I can fault this USB stick for is that it is quite a tight fit in my laptop's USB slot making it slightly difficult to remove. The only thing left to wonder is how long the spring in the clip and swivel portion of the USB end will last. If anything happens that would alter my opinion of this product, this review will be updated accordingly.Purchased from the Vancouver NCIX store Dec 5, 2009 |
I am very pleased with this purchase. The construction is top notch. Feels like someone built this thing to last. Clip works well, metal around the edging protects it nicely. Transfer rates are good and I like the fact you can have it at 90 or 180 deg extended as another reviewer mentioned. Feels safer when connected to a netbook for example at a 90deg extention. Would buy again if I needed more.
