Great solution for PS2 KVM and USB Server
Comment:
Problem: Adding 2nd server to stack and old server and keyboard with touch pad have ps2 connectors only; new server has only usb ports. Solution: ps2 kvm and this adapter. Works perfectly. Highly recommended. |

Does what you need it to...

If you're considering this, then you have a specific need. You have a computer with only USB ports and you want to use a PS2 mouse and keyboard. This works great with old KVMs which is where you would probably want to use it. |

ADESSO ADP-PU21 PS/2 to USB Adapter
Comment:
I wanted to use an legacy barcode gun for (ps2) input. This unit passed enough power to the old 5v wedge to allow it to function. The cheaper p/n C250-2001 would not work. This USB to PS/2 Converter is the best solution for those who want to use legacy PS/2 devices on new USB systems. It allows you to connect a PS/2 mouse and keyboard (other devices)through the USB port on any computer. |
I bought this adapter to use with my IBM Model M keyboard. Mine is an original one from 1984. I tried other PS/2-to-USB adapters, and they would not work. Apparently, this is a known problem as the Model M is a power hog drawing 112 mA, which most adapter cannot supply. This one does no problem. I have used it for an afternoon without noticing any problem. It deal with multiple keys being pressed at once without a hitch. If you have a Model M keyboard and need an adapter, this one does the job!
