AMD A10-5700 APU Quad Core Processor Socket FM2 3.4GHZ 4MB 65W Retail Box
Cons:None, using my criteria.
Pros:* Radeon graphics = compatible with Linux* 65 Watt TDP at 3.4GHz versus 100 Watt TDP at 3.8GHz for the A10-5800K...a large difference in TDP for a small difference in clock speed. |
My requirements were for a current issue processor that runs Debian (Squeeze) using precompiled Linux kernels currently available. TDP versus performance were considerations for a machine that would be running 24/7 under load. Given the tradeoffs for my application, the A10-5700 was the optimal choice.
