AMD A8-3870 Black APU W/ Radeon 6550D HD GFX Quad Core Processor Socket FM1 3.0GHZ 4MB Retail Box
Cons:stock heat sink (id rater have none and it be 10$ cheaper)
Pros:bang for buck Comment:
got in a bundle with a gigabyte board for an htpc, so kind of overkill but runs cools and with a shunken 2b quiet the combo was 200$ there are cheaper options out there but i wanted a little juice for converting videos and usb 3 ps fm1 uses am2 / am3 coolers |

AMD A8-3870 Black APU W/ Radeon 6550D HD GFX Quad Core Processor Socket FM1 3.0GHZ 4MB Retail Box
Cons:-factory heatsink is weak
Pros:-graphics capability-price isn't to bad Comment:
Put this cpu in a little gaming build and the integrated graphics seems to be handling itself pretty well. The heatsink that comes with it is really weak and I would suggest an aftermarket cpu cooler. If you are looking to put together a gaming system on a budget, get this and avoid buying a seperate video card. |

AMD A8-3870 Black APU W/ Radeon 6550D HD GFX Quad Core Processor Socket FM1 3.0GHZ 4MB Retail Box
Cons:No cons that I can think of off hand.
Pros:Good Processor, integrated GPU, Quiet Stock Fan Comment:
Bought this to use in my latest build. It is a very efficient processor, and I would definitely purchase again. |
At this price point, it has no competition. Its GPU has enough power to run most games at reasonably high settings in 720P. With a little bit of overclocking, you can even run some in 1080P smoothly. You have to change the HSF though, it runs way too hot otherwise.
