AMD Athlon 64 2650E Processor AM2 1.6GHZ 640KB Cache 15W 65NM OEM
Cons:
single core, only AM2
Pros: 15 watts!!! Comment:
did a little upgrading to my FreeNAS server. main objective is low power consumption, and this fit the bill perfectly. for such a low price (after PM), forget undercocking/undervolting and just get this thing, enable cool'n'quiet, and disconnect the cpu fan :D |

AMD Athlon 64 2650E Processor AM2 1.6GHZ 640KB Cache 15W 65NM OEM
Cons:
single core, efficiency has been beaten
Pros: 15w, virtualization, x64, socketed, cheap Comment:
if you need a nice expandable storage box that will murder its Atom equivalent buy one of these and a ga-ma74gm-s2(onboard video/gigabit/..) motherboard(or similar) and your set....... 6x sata ports of win! I have 3x of these and love them to bits.... full 64bit support, virtualization(I've been running 3x vm's with no probs (winxpx64(hostos)/win7/xp/xp)), doesn't really need a high end motherboard and lastly but not least its socketed...here's a comparison vs atom: http://www.anandtech.com/print/2900 |
I used this in a kids computer, and they can even run alot of the higher end games... I am mighty impressed for the cost. I wouldnt use it for myself of course LOL, but for a low cost system, its a great choice.
