Paid $40 on Pink Friday, using on Shuttle for HTPC. Runs cool and fast. My last AMD chip is 7 years old and still works perfect, hope this one last as long.

Cheap, fast, cool. It just works. Running it in an AM2-plus MB. No OC not necessary for HTPC.

Overclocks to 3.2Ghz without much trouble, AND runs very cool in the low 30's. 2MB of cache is what makes this a good chip.

Bought this for a low cost build, and it does the job very well. The heatsink isn't very good, the temps run warmer than I'd like. Now granted bundled heatsinks usually aren't very good but this is one of the worst ones I've seen, but it gets the job done. If you are doing ANY overclocking I'd switch it out though. Other than that it works great, happy with how it performs.

Works well on the Gigabyte mother board. Fast with Windows 7 and PC 5400 DDR2 memory and SATA HD 7200 Hard drive and XFX Radeon Hd 4650 video card.

This processor was paired as a combo with a Gigabyte MA75GM-US2H Mobo. They are a great combo. Great speed, quiet.

This is great value so it gets 5 out of 5 from me. It does everything my mom needs it for and well at that. For the great price its a perfect buy for someone who just needs to do basic tasks. The Athlon II is the perfect replacement for he Athlon 64 series as it still maintains that excellent entry level value.

I bought two of these and they're great for some standard word processing PCs. I would not recommend them for anything high-end like a server or gaming.

haven't got to use this with my mb yet since I have no ram or tower. DO NOT use two day shipping, takes just as long as when you use ground (free).

Good value for the price. We have installed many Athlon II X2 processors, and the 240 overclocks reasonably well (3.5GHz at 1.5V), but not as well as the 245 or 250 versions. All of the 240, 240, and 250 probably originate from the same die but are binned differently, with the 240 being the most inferior. Of course, that's to be expected given that the 240 is the cheapest of them all.

Superb value for the price. It works perfectly with my Asus M4A758-M mobo to run Windows 7, WEI score for the cpu is 6.3. The included fan is OK, faily quiet.

I installed this AMD Ahlon II X2 240 in my new built using the Asus M4N78 PRO mother board. This is my 3rd built in 10 years using AMD. You can't go wrong. Fast and reliable.

This is my first AMD build. I alwasy had Intel CPU'sI have Core i7 which is of course faster than this CPU but for the given price and tasks this CPU is the best out there

Bought this for a budget HTPC and it runs fast and cool. It delivers enough cpu power for this kind of use and respond quickly in Windows and the running tasks. For this price I couldn't expect more out if it.

Works just fine and there is no need to pay more when used for home computer use. No a Gammer type CPU, but a steady worker, and priced right. I build systems for a living and this CPU works great and helps me to make a profit.

Bought with Gigabyte board combo out performs intel duo it replaced easily overclocked to 3.0Ghz with stock cooler and voltages below default. Solid for an all purpose computer. Fast and easy order and delivery as always. Thanks again

i purchased a Asus M4N78 PRO Motherboard - Socket AM2, Geforce 8300, ATX, HDMI, SATA, Gbit LAN, Hybrid SLI and OCZ Titanium XMP 4096MB PC9200 DDR2 1150MHz Dual Channel Memory - 2x2048MB and all works GREAT with no issues.

Bought this for use in my new htpc with a Biostar MCP6P-M2 MB. Excellent coupled with Win 7 Home Premium. The stock fan it comes is loud for an htpc setup, so I suggest getting another.

Easy to install runs great. Superb value for the price. May not look like a good heastink but it'll do more than fine. And the warranty is only good if you use the stock supplied so no doubt stick with it you won't be disappointed!

Absolutely no problems running all kinds of software. It is quick, I like it better than my quad core Intel.
