AMD Athlon II X3 405E Triple Core Energy Efficient Processor AM3 2.3GHZ 1.5MB Cache 45W Retail Box
Cons:- none
Pros:- price- runs very quiet Comment:
Used this for a mini-itx build and it works well in a cramped airflow case without heating up much.Perfect for a media machine or regular workstation. |
I did not purchase this cpu for gaming, however I did subsequently add a good videocard to it and I was playing Deus Ex Human Revolution on 1280 by 1024 with high settings and it ran great. I have never tried to overclock or unlock a core. It's running cool, quiet, and stable, and does what I need it to do. It seems very expensive considering its speed. This price hasn't changed in over a year (but you can get it on sale maybe like I did). It's pretty simple really, with this CPU you know what you're getting, and you know you're paying more for high efficiency.
