Good Solid Processor
Comment:
This processor is a great value for the money. Good solid performance in a general use computer. I think the best part is that it comes with everything you need - no sourcing an additional fan or fiddling around with thermo gel it's all ready to go out of the box.

Good upgrade for the price
Comment:
Never used a multi-core before this one. It is definitely faster than my Athlon 64 3500. It is a great upgrade if your tight on money and want solid performance. It takes what I throw at it and stays cool at the same time

AMD Athlon II X3 425 2.7GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Processor
Cons:- weak stock heatsink

Pros:- Tri-core- Good value compared to other intel offerings (especially after Price Match)- 45nm keeps cpu very cool- budget cpu
Comment:
Upgraded from a Pentium D 830 to this and I couldn't be more pleased. It runs much faster but also cooler and quieter. The advantage is immediately noticeable in games and everyday use feels more snappy. I chose this over Intel offerings at same price because it was so much better value especially at $80.The only disadvantage I can see was the stock heatsink which is pretty whimpy. But nonetheless, it runs quietly.Good cpu for budget builds! Also, my 4th core did not unlock, but you should a cpu you will happy with and be even happier if it does unlock.

AMD Athlon II X3 425 2.7GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Processor
Cons:May not get lucky!

Pros:May get lucky and be unlockable...
Comment:
Unfortunately, this one did not unlock despite being a Deneb core (CACYC stepping). However, it was easily overclocked to 3.5 GHz with a modest 0.10 V increase. For the price, it's excellent value for what it is.

Triple Core
Comment:
Never heard of a triple core til now; placed it on a Asus motherboard and it works well. This processor can be very powerful with the right board, RAM and power supply.

AMD Athlon II X3 425 2.7GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Processor
Cons:For the price (pricematched at $85 bucks) you cant beat this chip.

Pros:PriceTriple core beats most more expensive dual cores
Comment:
Easy install, excellent for cheap build.about the same speed as the x4 9850, faster than the phenom II x720 and 550's, yet cheaper.Hands down, excellent chip.
