AMD Athlon II X4 635 2.9GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor
Cons: lack of Level 3 Cache, but who cares if not gaming

Pros: Good fast CPUgreat price when on sale for a quad
Comment:
This CPU was chosen for it's speed, # cores, price and how it related to the use. Since this was gonna be for a non-gaming machine I stepped away from the Phenon and went with AthlonII. Quad is nice and for an even better price. Combined with ASUS M4A785T-M/CSM mATX for the cheapest and yet most versatile DDR3 mobo-cpu combo. Good cpu with enough juice for what i want it to do. Have not tried to OC it, but heard this series can hit the 3.8-4.0Ghz easily.

Great Price Point CPU
Comment:
It works well and coolly with stock thermal interface and fan at 15% straight OC. Great price for the processor (on sale for $100); one of the most inexpensive quads. Still a valid price point at full retail ($125).

Great entry-level quad core processor
Comment:
I saw an ad for this processor for a low sale price and I jumped on it. For its regular price, I think it's an OK deal, but if you can find it on sale somewhere, it's great. This processor has a lot of pep and moves along quite nicely through most applications and the quad-core gives me the multiple cores to run simulaneous programs without an issue. It's certainly not as strong as a Phenom II X4, but you get what you pay for, and this is a great entry-level quad.

Lower cost way to cost to 4 core performance
Comment:
Reasonable performance for a low cost CPU. It offers 4 cores but small cache so the performance is not as good as could be. But 4 cores gets a lot of work done - so really for the price it offers a lot of system throughput. So if you are on a limited budget and need 4 cores this just maybe the CPU for you.

AMD Athlon II X4 635 2.9GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor
Cons: None

Pros: SpeedInstallation
Comment:
Not much to say. It works great, installed extremely easy. I'm not sure if that was the mobo or AMD processors in general but it was a snap to get the heatsink on.Got this on sale with the Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H for an HTPC. Vista gave it a 5.9 rating - the highest.I wanted a cheap decent processor that had some life in it for my HTPC and this fit the bill.
