AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ Eight-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:Weak single threaded performance. Power consumption higher than Intel.
Pros:Massively powerful in multi threaded applications. Significantly cheaper than Intel products. Comment:
bought this as a drop in replacement for a 1090t I've had for more than 2 years. Due to lack luster performance, I skipped Bulldozer. Vishera seems to be a much better core, and a sizeable upgrade for the money. CPU is fairly quiet, and runs below 50C at full load.Stock HSF is also fairly robust and quality unit, though I use a CM Hyper 212. |

AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ Eight-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:I can't see a single one.
Pros:Extremely Overclockable, Super fast, great price, way more bang for your buck compared to Intel Comment:
This CPU is fantastic! I'm using a water cooler by Corsair and have overclocked this CPU to 5.2 with no trouble (Stable) I've read other getting it higher but thats the max I can get so far, but 8 cores at 5.2 is great. I'm super happy with this CPU and the cost is a no brainer when comparing it to Intel products. |

AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ Eight-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:Full load power consumption is left to be desired-1.2 billion transistors will create heat-Single Threaded performance has surpassed or matched Thuban, but it still lacking behind Intel (IMO this is becoming less relevant as applications will move towards multi-threading)-Not enough applications utilize the module architecture correctly, more software needs to be written to take advantage of AMD's offerings
Pros:10-15% faster than Zambezi, in some instances exceeding 20%-Improved thermal efficiency-Higher clock speed on the same node process without increasing TDP/Heat output-Faster FPS in many game titles vs Zambezi-Multi-Threaded applications and OpenCL thrive on this architecture-Idle Power consumption is good-Socket AM3+ Compatible, easy drop in upgrade for Phenom II/FX users with a bios update on compatible 800/900 series boards-Slightly improved memory controller Comment:
1866Mhz DDR3 memory is running flawlessly with the dual channel modeI am running this on an Asus M5A97 motherboard after a bios update. The CPU's turbo seems to be kicking in frequently, so 4.2ghz is normal to see. At some point I will overclock it. Great CPU for the suggested price. I highly recommend it if you have a compatible motherboard and are sticking with the AMD platform. I own a 2600k and do not see a huge difference in most tasks. Bechmarks do not really apply much in real life performance. Owning both brands I can attest to it. Turn off your lamp or get an energy efficient light bulb and the power consumption difference between the offerings is no longer an issue :) |

Cons:non
Pros:beast on multitasking, easy to overclock. Comment:
This is a good upgrade from my phenom II 1090T. The 8350 overclock very easy, with little voltage increase, here is a bench at 5 GHZ.http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/4920937 the video card 7950 was oc to 1.1 GHZ. i order another 7950 to do a crossfire but it got on back order. :(I Know i can push the cpu farther but i will wait until I get a water cooling. |
Love this processor its fast and doesn't overheat if you are not over clocking. I don't like the heatsink that come with them always buy a aftermarket one for best results.
