AMD Phenom 9850 2.5GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:wattage
Pros:quad core, unlocked multiplier Comment:
Speedy chip. I bought this as an upgrade from an athalon X2 and have noticed a huge improvement in running the adobe suite. Bought this for the unlocked multiplier I plan to OC it a little to squeeze some extra juice out of it.Runs 10-13 degrees C hotter than the athalon, but thats to be expected from something that uses twice the wattage. |

Pros:Great Deal, got in combo pack with mother board Comment:
Got this proccessor as a combo pack with ASUS M4A785-M mATX AM3/AM2+ 785G DDR2 PCI-E16 PCI-E 2XPCI SATA RAID Video Sound GBLAN Motherboard on boxing day. Great deal. Will work awesome in my new setup. |
I upgraded to this processor from my old 5200+ and it has made a very big improvement. I have noticed on one of the recent BIOS update s to my ASUS M2N32-Sli Deluxe motherboard that it now supports this. So rather than upgrading my motherboard in order to support Quadcore, I was pretty thrilled to find out that the new BIOS update supports this. The speed on this is like clockwork, it is about double the speed of my old 5200+. Everything loads much more faster and much more smoothly. Paired with the Zalman 9900NT heatsink, the is well taken care of in the cooling department. Highly recommended!
