AMD Phenom II X2 550 3.1GHz Socket AM3 80W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: 8O watts consumption, still more than Intel counterpart.

Pros: Fast clock, cheap, 6Mo of L3 cache.
Comment:
Bought this processor 2 weeks ago to upgrade from my old Athlon 64 X2 5000+ which was aging and overheating since 5 months.I play mainly Everquest II with an ATI4870, unfortunately EQ2 engine does is not scaled good for powerful graphic cards, you need a powerful CPU as well.I was getting FPS of less than 30 with old CPU (2 cores at 2.6Ghz) in zones like Butcherblock. With the new Phenum II X2 (2 cores at 3.1Ghz), i run at 40-50+ FPS with same settings, this is very good. In some zones like Thundering Steppes I can go to 70FPS at high settings.

AMD Phenom II X2 550 3.1GHz Socket AM3 80W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: None

Pros: Price/Performance, Large Cache.
Comment:
For what your pay these days and what you get this chip is "no pun intended"...Phenominal. I always look not to far back in the past and compare to those chips only a year old and back to see the speed difference for the price. It's a no brainer, these lesser priced chips will always be bargains no matter what.

AMD Phenom II X2 550 3.1GHz Socket AM3 80W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: it's not realy a weakness because it's not supposed to be unlocked but mine when i unlock the 2 extra core the sensor are not working

Pros: fast enough for small gaming, easy to unlock and not very hot
Comment:
for the price 100$, with the gigabyte ga-ma78lm-s2h you have a good combination for a little bit more than 150$

AMD Phenom II X2 550 3.1GHz Socket AM3 80W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: -Maybe a little outdated

Pros: -Price-Fast-Unlock-able potential
Comment:
This was a big upgrade from my old cpu a 2.8ghz Pentium d.(yea, yea laugh it up;) Of course I observed greatly improved performance across the board, More so than i realistically expected. wont try overclocking or unlocking until l get a decent cooler. stock definitely seems a bit on the small side though temps look very good in Speedfan and Everest.

AMD Phenom II X2 550 3.1GHz Socket AM3 80W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: No unlocked multiplier like the BE but then again, the multipler is high anyways so i figured i'd save the money in my pocket for something else.

Pros: Much faster than X2 4200+ and can OC pretty high too.80W vs. my previous 95W processor.
Comment:
Awesome upgrade from my old X2 4200+ and for cheap too. What can i say but if you're looking to fit a very strick budget, this is an excellent processor. Many people go for the BE but i was on such a budget and it didn't fail me for my first build.

AMD Phenom II X2 550 3.1GHz Socket AM3 80W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: - None, you get a good CPU for the money

Pros: - Cheap- Runs quite well all the lastest games for its price- Unlocked to X4 easily but that depends on how lucky you are on getting the right one.- Runs cool on a OCZ Vendetta
Comment:
Bought this for my brother and I unlocked it so he runs a cheap X4 for 100$. All lastest games play well as he runs a HD4850 Xfire setup. Can't go wrong for a budget gaming pc.

AMD Phenom II X2 550 3.1GHz Socket AM3 80W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: Not Black Edition

Pros: Unlock to quad cores.Overclock easily compare to 1st gen phenom.CheapC3 stepping
Comment:
Overclock this stable at 4.1GHz and unlock to quad cores. It's not a black edition so no unlock multi, but it doesn't matter much because of the high multi anyway. It may not worth it if it doesn't unlock since the Athlon II X4 is around the same price.

Great CPU
Comment:
When I got this thing I fell in love. It's a fast processor, the fan is a bit noisy when it starts moving, but not too loud. Unlocked the other cores with my motherboard, so I'm definitely enjoying it.
