APC BR1300LCD BACK-UPS
Cons:connecting the battery
Pros:780w, detailed LCD display, easy connectivity Comment:
This pretty much does what you think it should, and the 780W capacity is a lot. You can easily connect it to your computer's USB where software can be used to detect that you are running on battery and gracefully shut down. The LCD displays a bunch of useful data. I wish you could adjust the beeping volume though - as I can't hear from the basement.I've ran a few simple tests (yank the power cord out) and things work as expected - can't ask for much more.It took me a few minutes (no more) to connect the battery. At first, I didn't even notice the battery wasn't connected. Once the battery cover was opened, i had to work a bit at getting it plugged in (someone with large fingers might really struggle). You need to pull the battery out a bit, but the power cable is quiet short. Minor inconvenience at most. |
Very good ups, it keeps my computers safe in an apartment that I don't thrust the electrical fluctuations... Highly recommended, these things last long so it's a good investment, with price match I got it for 181$.
