Works eggxaclty as intended. Asus mobo had the new 8 prong slot and the case's power provide only had a 4 prong aux cable. So, I had to get this adapter and it worked out fantastic. Only thing would be that it makes your aux cable longer and you have to tie it down to a thing inside the case, but that's no biggie. Maybe newegg must show the cables more successfully on their power provide cable images so you can see if you will need an adapter like this 1. The mobo aux slot also had a cover on it so it looks like you only require the common 4 pin aux cable. I had to rush method this, and over night it for a customer mainly because initially didn't believe I necessary 1. Possibly it could be included as "others bought this" with their power supply/mobo.

My new Gigabyte Motherboard has an 8 pin 12V socket near the CPU socket. My PSU has a 4 pin cable. This adapter converts the four pin cable from the PSU into an 8 pin plug for the 8 pin socket on the motherboard. Works perfectly.
