Cons:I haven't found any so far.
Pros:It's sound quality is absolutely amazing! 7.1 with 115 SNR and 600 Ohm headphone support is unheard of! Usually those components alone cost way more than this board. BIOS menus is great to work with as well, most user friendly BIOS I've seen. BIOS options are more than enough for even the most hardcore PC enthusiast. A beautiful board with great looking heatsinks on the PCB. Comment:
I got this board to run 3 way crossfire on it for mining/gaming. So far it's great! It's a beautiful board, in the area of Asus ROG series of boards. Asrock really went through the troubles to make the sound coming out of this board amazing with great EMI shielding for the audio chips and an amp built right into it. Movies and music through 7.1 DTS:Neo upmixing sounded really better than I expected. Asrock also included a bunch of software to making startup and internet gaming latency faster and tweaking some BIOS setting in the OS. Overall it's a great 3 way crossfire board. Really the audio components alone should make you buy this thing! I was looking for audio components to do the same things for my old PC, and they are in the range of 2 to 4 times the price of this mobo alone! Hats of to Asrock! |
Don't get me wrong, this is a great board for the money, but I have a couple gripes. 1. The board feels very flimsy and fragile compared to boards I have worked on in the past. (May be just be, but bare it in mind)2. The HDMI pass-through that is advertised so heavily on the box.Anyone that is buying this board is going to be used a graphics card with it. Period. So you there for sacrifice the ability to use the built in HDMI in on the board to create a pass-through. Now for me, its not the biggest deal, my display has multiple HDMI inputs, but for someone using a monitor with one HDMI input this can prove to be annoying to say the least.The neutral - The sound chip. It`s better than a soundcard (A vast majority of people buying sound cards are doing just that for the wrong reason, Tek Syndicate has a very informative video on youtube about the myths around sound cards, go check it out)But it just doesn't hold a candle to an external DAC, that being said, it doesn`t hurt and it is nice knowing its there!
