ASUS 8X DVD-RW SLIM EXTERNAL
Cons:-Some trouble decoding video to play DVD movies-Surface not completely uniform (It seems to have an unnecessary indent that goes around the outside of the drive or it might actually be necessary because there appears to be some air holes).
Pros:-Can be mounted on its side-Looks nice |
I bought this drive to replace another external slim DVD player. I chose it because it can stand on its side which seems to be a huge benefit over the older one I had. However, I had some difficulties playing DVD videos. From what I hear, it needs decoder software to play DVDs and it took VLC a whole minute (at least) until a movie started up and began playing.
