ASUS 9PIN Serial Port Header for Internal Motherboard COM2 Connector
Cons:Could be cheaperUsually not in stock
Pros:Adds a COM port to your PC Comment:
More and more boards have given up providing COM ports on the board IO panel, some however allow the addition of a COM port through use of this adapter which plugs into a green COM port header on the motherboard. Many times i require a COM port, to connect scientific equipment to a PC, which is still how a lot of science equipment is connected, thus i end up having to buy these adapters, which i find to be a little over priced for what it is. None the less i am glad when i see that NCIX has them in stock, which is not that often. |

ASUS 9PIN Serial Port Header for Internal Motherboard COM2 Connector
Cons:-ribbon cable ~ 3/4 inch width
Pros:-long cable included COM2 connection-PCI slot adapter-COM2 connector (internal connection to the motherboard)-easy to install Comment:
Arrived OEM in a clear plastic bag. The PCI metal slot came slightly WARPED/BENT. Probably cause it was packaged in a bag.Ability to attach a null modem cable for a FTA box software upgrade |

ASUS 9PIN Serial Port Header for Internal Motherboard COM2 Connector
Cons:none
Pros:if your motherboard has the pins then you need this Comment:
very good quality product from asus. I needed this to upgrade my dish receiver. Its good enough and very affordable. |
Agreed with the other reviewer, more and more boards are giving up the com port on the IO but available on the mainboard...Motherboard manufacturers should include this. Anyway, Altho stated for Asus but it work with my Gigabyte MA770-UD3 motherboard...by the way, the connector is not exactly as shown...grey cable instead of the Black Asus, more like OEM stuff than by ASUS..work fine nonetheless.
