ASUS Blu-ray Drive SATA Model BC-08B1ST
Cons:
Software that comes with it isn't the best.
Pros: Way more quieter than my LG drive even when buring. Front is nice and shiny and looks good. Comment:
Im glad i bought it and dont regret it. Kind of disappointed at the software (cyberlink) and when I play blu rays the sound doesn't go out the HDMI in my 4850 unless i diable the onboard sound. But over all its a good drive and would buy it again. I recommend it |

ASUS Blu-ray Drive SATA Model BC-08B1ST
Cons:
Can be a bit noisy
Pros: Looks niceWell madeEasy to install Comment:
I have only had this drive for a few days and so far so good! it looks nice with the glossy finish on the front. Can be a little noisey but to be honest i have never heard a silent drive yet! Plays blu ray very well although the cyberlink power dvd software you get can be a bit of a pain! i had real problems with my sound from playing blu ray to begin with. |
I bought this drive because the TTHD feature looked good. It turns out that the drive has nothing to do with TTHD, it's the software that does that. The bundled software is PowerDVD 7, which could only play one of the 6 Blu-Rays I've tried so far. PowerDVD 7 is old, and it can't handle the menu systems of newer Blu-rays. I downloaded a trial of PowerDVD 10 and everything works. Now my trial has expired and I'll have to buy new software. I wish I had bought either a cheaper drive, or one that came with up to date software. Asus got my money this time, but not next time.
