ASUS EeeBox PC EB1012P-B0320 Black Mini / Booksize Barebone System
Cons:none
Pros:compact, quiet, low power, high quality Comment:
This is a great nettop and makes for a good 2nd or 3rd computer. The dual-core Atom processor isn't as fast as mainstream processors, but is 'fast enough' for normal web browsing, email, or document creation. The ION chipset provides well-balanced graphics performance under Windows XP or Windows 7.NOTE: this is a barebones system; you will need to add your own RAM and your own hard drive (or SSD) as well as provide your own operating system. Adding a hard drive is easy, but removing the side panel to gain access to the RAM slots can be tricky.Drivers for the most popular operating systems can be downloaded directly from Asus. |
This is a great little nettop for running XBMC. Added an IR remote control receiver, and nothing to complain about. Might not be the fastest thing in the world, but with the ION2 graphics chipset to offload the decoding, it will play 1080p h.264 without even breaking a sweat.
