ASUS External Slim DVD±R/RW Drive (Black)

The drive works perfect, we used it to watch movies while on vacation.

Looking for a DVD-R for my Acer notebook. After a couple of reboots the device worked and is working flawlessly, I do use both UBS slots for burning. The only problem I have encountered is with the software that came with the device, there wasn't a registration number and the program expires in 30 days after installation. I tried emailing Asus support but I believe its non-existent, so I looked into downloading a freeware program and there are plenty of good ones out there that can do the same job as the one that came with the DVD-R.

Comment:
I intended to use this product to burn mpg to DVD. I have not been successful at getting one DVD burned and able to be watched. I was able to do disc to disc copy. I bought the software upgrade believing it would enable the burn DVD feature however, I have had two more failures in those DVD burns. I do not see any access to customer support and at this point am prepared to stop at the local store to purchase another external hard drive.

Comment:
I bought this to ease loading of programs on my new netbook (same manufacturer). It's easy to use, fast, powers up fine, very portable, and looks good. Everything I wanted.
