ASUS GeForce 8400 GS EN8400GS/DI/512MD2(LP) Video Card
Cons:The instruction of installation is not very clear. It needs a little bit of brain power for the first time user to figure out a way to install this card.
Pros:Fits into Acer slim tower. Dimension is small. Enough tools for installations. Can be powered by budget PC. It has enough power to watch HD movies. Comment:
For $33 it is great for a budget PC. |
Recently, my computer with 7600GT broke. In this case, an inductor broke off of my 7600GT, causing it to fail. Being too lazy to solder it back on, I decided to buy a substitute until I upgraded to an Ivy Bridge system. After an easy installation, I cranked it up and installed the newest drivers and all that jazz. The 8400GS is actually slower than my old 7600GT, but it runs much cooler and quieter. At this time, I could have bought a GT240 for the same price. However, the MIR required a 10-12 week turn-around time, something I wasn't going to wait for. If you don't mind MIRs, do yourself a favor and purchase something else.In conclusion, at this price, this product does what it's supposed to do. It's not the best video card, but it will run some games at okay settings. I currently play DOTA2 on low setting.
