ASUS Geforce7025/nForce 630a Barebone Kit I bought this to replace my daughter's machine that has had it (due to an intel processor and its heat) and it has been a great investment. She loves it and I do to. Easy to build. The transition was painless but I suggest 2gb more ram to help it along. If you want a cheap upgrade from an old machine, do this one. Build your own is cheaper than a store bought any day.

AMD Athlon II X4 620 Quad Core Processor Funny lil chip, will OC to 3.2ghz on stock voltage with reasonable load temps 42C, perfectly stable on my crappy foxconn a7da-s 3.0 AM3 mobo. I have seen 3.5 to 3.8 on better mobos. Got it on sale for $50!! so the price performance ratio is insane...even at $100 Probably new AMD budget gaming king. Not so good for crysis if you wan't to run max settings thought, need phenom 720 power for that.

Power Up Black ATX Mid-Tower Case I bought this as part of a barebones bundle. The price for the bundle was hard to beat (it included the CPU and EVGA 9500 graphics card). I had no trouble assembling the PC. The case is nothing fancy, but easy to work on and looks solid. Only complaints are the power supply fan is very loud for my HTPC application, but I solved that by installing the PC in the adjacent room and running a few cables through the wall. Bottom line, good case for a server or desktop, not so great for HTPC applications.

ASUS Geforce7025/nForce 630a Barebone Kit I bought this kit as an upgrade from my previous single core cpu and older mobo. I am very impressed with the quad cores power and can really tell a difference playing games. The motherboard was very easy to install as well, jumpers were already set and all ports are labeled on the board. The ram is not the best so I went ahead and bought 4GB of some 800MHz OCZ ram for a cheap upgrade. I do have to say though the case is pretty bad, it is very flimsy and it rocks on a flat table, could probably be straightened if you bent the frame a little but I would not buy this case by itself. Also the power supply is VERY loud, I had to replace the fan on it because it bothered me so much. All in all this is a good upgrade kit with some powerful components. If you are looking for an affordable upgrade I would definitely recommend this kit.

Decided on a desktop because I knew I could find great performance for low cost. I added 2 GB Ram, a Lite-on DVD writer, a Zonet wireless-n card, EVGA NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT (already had new), 300 GB Maxtor Diamondmax SATA 150 (already had for 3 years), soldered in a bluetooth usb dongle (already had), Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. Vista Business and Windows 7. WOW!
