It's a great 7 inch tablet. I had Samsung Galaxy Tab2 before, but Nexus 7 is way better than that. Especially, touch screen is very smooth and fast compare to Galaxy Tab2.If you consider buy Nexus 7, I will strongly recommend 4G model with 32 GB ($50 difference with WIFI model). |

I am using this Asus Nexus as a navigation tool.The GPS and the compass are accurate and all applications I am using are running fast with no problem. With the 3G Data I can download online data when I am in the field.I did replace all my Garmin GPS with this tablet. |

I have had to return two different units inside of a one month period. The first was the wifi only model. The speaker was not loud at all even when maxing the volume out.I decided to return it to the store i purchased it from and order the 4g (its really 3g when it comes down to it...)from ncix in mid december.Just today , i hear notifications coming in (emails) the speaker sounded very distorted and is crackling. I have had this happen on similar devices. So i know whats going on. Basically the speaker is about to blow out. Mind you i haven't really used the internal speaker for anything except notifications. The tablet itself was in a protective casing and sleeve and very lightly used.I suppose it is just incredibly bad luck.But be warned if you plan on getting this tablet - it has many drawbacks. Many people have reported having the same issue with the speaker and others have had issues with the screen. If you aren't sure google these topics and read up. I'm taking off 2 stars from my rating because i want future consumers to be aware of these issues. I take much care of my 'digital devices' its a shame to have to deal with the return process once again.In conclusion , good device wish it were more robust. And had speakers of better quality. |
This tablet is a wonder for the person that wants to move around with his tablet. Broadband internet is a must on this kind of tablet and unfortunately is widely underestimated. Car GPS, subway/bus entertainment, work tool...You can also get a cheap plan on your mobile phone without internet and use this tablet with a tablet plan. You will save easily 50% a month on your current plan costs. I changed my 80$ plan with 2GB data to a 25$ plan with airtime, sms, mms and canada wide calls. Then I got this 15$ tablet plan with 3GB data. 50% less montly payment... 40$ * 12months = 480$ per year!!If you just want to use your tablet in front of the TV, then I recommend 10"+ tablets without Broadband internet as it's useless.If you need something idiot proof, buy an iPad. You can't do much with it but someone with low IQ will make it work.
