it runs, compact design. not all chips will function with this motherboard read my other thoughts. Make positive this motherboard will work with the distinct processor your adding. I read supports AM2 and figured my AM2 6400 X2 would operate, effectively it's not supported. From now I'm going to ASUS CPU support web page to see what chip will match with that specific motherboard.

operates....ordered board on Monday, delivered Tuesday afternoon even tho the CPU is functioning usually, I dropped in a phenom 9950 BE and on post get an unsupported CPU error...hit F1 to carry on, CPU nevertheless functions generally. board will most other CPU's up to a phenom 9850,but skips my 9950,and supports almost any other CPU I have observed according to the web site such as most Phenom II and Athlon II CPU's. decent board therefore far.....I have CPU running at three.0GHZ....limited overclocking choices in BIOS,cannot enter your very own CPU voltage values , not a super big deal, but may well be to a much less casual overclocker

This is the first time I can keep in mind in years of shopping at newegg that i received an order in much less than 7 calendar days. I got this one particular, I think, on the third day right after ordering.I envy all you who brag of receiving your orders in a day or two.I got this to replace a MoBo that was crippled right after a surge. Thankfully only the board required replacing and it was totally painless. IDK. Possibly could have been a bit larger to permit for one more pci slot, but I truly don't require it so not much of a con. The board is tiny. I knew it was micro atx, but it's about twoǙ the size of the micro atx board it replaced. I was just shocked. Makes my mid tower look big on the inside. Much less is far more? No complaints here.

Besides the reality ASUS makes wonderful motherboards I really like that it comes with two SATA cables so you don't have to purchase an additional for your DVD-rom.Also it comes with the logo sticker so you can give some color to your custom case. Almost everything operates fine ,it boots truly fast I just about return the board and leave a bad evaluation but it turns out I got a defective new drive Individuals will need to make positive their issue is the motherboard before they return it,quite a few critiques I see here blaming the motherboard is from people today that don't seriously know what they're undertaking

Cheap MB. Excellent function set. PCIe x1 slot to the inside of the PCIe x16 slot, (great for video cards that demand two slots.) Windows 7 installer won't boot. Windows 7 won't boot.

Standard Asus quality, every thing operates as it must. Configuration is a breeze, just plug it in and it's prepared to go. There are specific processors that are not compatible with this board. Especially, any processor running at 125 watts is not going to operate appropriately. My particular practical experience is with the AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition that runs at 125 watts. There is one more version, that Newegg does not carry, that is only 95 watts. You want to make certain you have the right wattage cpu. . .just 1 much more thing you require to check. If almost everything had worked as anticipated, I would give this board 5 stars. The deficit is additional a communication difficulty than technical and such a detail need to be much more prominently noted in the specs.

Fantastic board for the dollars! Easy installation and setup! What is up with this non-existant TPM device? Asus threw a loose (OUT DATED)page in the manual relating to this feature! There aren't any BIOS updates obtainable to fix this error in the POST! Unfortunately, I am going to have to request an RMA!

Almost everything operates as stated. No Issues. Worked fine with processor and RAM. None. I got what I ordered, and it does it's job. Individuals who deduct for "on board fatures" are not worthy of reviewing a item. You knew what you have been shopping for; the specifications have been displayed. If you didn't want a serial, parallel and PS2 connectors, Obtain A Distinct BOARD. You don't purchase Ford if you want Chevrolet. I really feel negative for the manufacturer due to the fact of testimonials from men and women like this, but they are entertaining to the rest of the world.

works fantastic my wife likes it shes a desent gamer no online games but like ghost recon and stuff ok this is interrersting on the asus cpu like u can only have 3 6 cores that compatable with this board and most commen are 65watts and 95 watt and only 1 125wattout of the hole list so get a 95 or 65 watt to be on the protected side also the NVIDIA onboard is only a 256ddr and if u commence up and the laptop or computer shuts of ramdonley its the onboard video so get a video card and u only have two memory slots so if u want to max on ram and go a hole 8gb with this board ddr2 800 4 gb sticks is the way to go asus truly want to know what there carrying out there prudicks have also been great and from time to time u have a that just dont perform the way u want it to but this board dose over clock really nicely for how inexpensive it is if u get black edison processor were u can go the extream dual core note to self dont operate that grat i have a 29 more than clcoked to three.16 only if i even go a single 218 it wont boot so i have to restart and it says more than clock failed and so black edison if u are a extram over clocker or if ur building on teh low cost or best bang for the buck

Very good all about board for a fantastic cost. Extremely stable with the onboard video. No problems and I've had it for six months. Only functions with a short list of CPU's. As far as I can tell it doesn't assistance AM3. I've by no means tried it so I don't know for positive.

Nice replacement/upgrade for Compaq SR5000 with lots additional attributes than OEM board.็ vs. 赨 for Compaq replacement. Only supports CPUs up to 95 Watts - disregard Asus compatibility chart!Poor style enables solder joint (of choke coil?) alongside the mounting screw hole nearest the PS2 Keyboard socket to short out against the case on some systems. Causes board to seem DOA or shuts down randomly from intermittent speak to. Note to other people with DOA boards:I located this out immediately after my board appeared DOA. I pulled the board to send it back for refund but decided to give it one final try just before shipping it out. It fired up instantly out of the case, so I reassembled it and when far more was dead. Investigation led me to learn the above pointed out shortage. I basically installed an insulator amongst the solder joint and the case mounting pad and almost everything was fine. I was lucky sufficient that no harm was accomplished. This is just a poor style on Asus's part. This may possibly not be the reason other people have DOA boards, but is worth trying.

This motherboard is a wonderful purchase for the price and support.Be careful as Newegg does not have one hundred% precise information about this board. Named ASUS and the mobo does support AM3 but has a cpu chart on which ones.http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=M2N68-AM PLUS&productɣ&os៱This address is the chart of cpu supported. Not a con- Using this mobo due to the fact i miss order a baord for a buyer, he wants four mem slots. My brothers program is dying so i am working with this board and went and bought the athlon II 245, thats why i got worried. Newegg please update the motherboard title to say "AM3 assistance on select CPU'S".http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=M2N68-AM PLUS&productɣ&os៱ The cause I am stating this is mainly because the motherboard booklet says AM2/AM2+ not AM3. Got me worried that i would have to send back the athlon II 245.http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=M2N68-AM PLUS&productɣ&os៱

-Little Package-Legacy Ports-Decent Value-Effortless BIOS flashing-Integrated Video-Seems like it will final a although -Possibly I'm executing one thing wrong, but you cannot easily boot from IDE or SATA disc drive, but USB performs fine. -The WinXP disk controller drivers are not signed, even even though it says it was. -The RAID function is somewhat hidden, but is documented. -Overall the system itself is kinda slow, but acceptable at this value range. -The front panel pins are very far, some circumstances could need extenders. -Substantial PCI cards will have an situation physically as the heatsink and/or I/O pins may be in the way.-Slow POST Got this with a AMD and Memory combo for an experimental server. Putting it together was basic. Took a whilst setting up Windows Server 2008r2 as it wouldn't boot from IDE. Flashed the BIOS (easily), and it nonetheless wouldn't boot. I also set this up for a friend with WinXP slipstreamed with the most current nVidia RAID drivers. Turns out they aren't digitally signed so you would get a BSOD for the duration of install. Google "Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers" and you will get the appropriate drivers. I've had so a lot of matters installing an OS but once you get past it, every thing performs effectively. This is my 1st develop in ten years replacing an A7A266, and is my third Asus board. So far...I've been disappointed. 1st board has negative caps, the A7A266 didn't assistance large disks or USB2. (even although the engineering was there). I'm now reluctant to get a different Asus....General, this is a decent board for it's price, with minor issues...we'll see how it holds up the subsequent 10 years...

On board video and audio, value. This board is rather little compared to the M2N-SLI or M4A79XTD EVO. Typically smallness shouldn't be a dilemma, but if you look closely at pictures of the board itself, notice that the PCIx16 slot is Very Quite close to the on board audio output box compared to other models. That implies the DVI outputs on my video card would be sticking out of the topmost slot in the back of my case - a slot normally unused. This posed a massive issue for me, simply because when I wanted to plug my monitor into my video card output, the tower case was physically in the way of the cable head reaching anyplace near enough to TOUCH the outputs, let alone plug into them. I could have kludged it and possibly filed down the plastic of the cable head or one thing, but I seriously don't assume it's worth the work or difficulty. (And if other people today really feel the same way about this kind of factor, then at least I've saved them some hassle.)RMA'd the identical day it arrived for a refund. I'll make certain to scrutinize physical board layout subsequent time I want to upgrade.

Most of all the motherboards I install is Asus, I like the products. The problem right here is an outdated bios that doesn't match the manual & Asus update application not finding an updated bios. The TPM (trusted Platform Module - Infineon driver installs with a resource conflict on Windows XP. I tried to turn it off in the bios only to uncover it not in the bios as stated in the manual supplement. Went to update the bios by means of Asus' update utility and it says there is no update to the Bios. As stated I like Asus products but they truly shouldn't release a motherboard like this, they ought to have updated the bios, not just stick a supplement piece of paper in the manual.
