Great value, quality and performance
Comment:
my ONLY gripe is that there are not enough slots for memory and other cards but other than that ... compact, well done! |

UNSTABLE BOARD ON 64-BIT VISTA
Comment:
IF YOU BUY THIS BOARD USE XP 32 OR 64 BIT. OTHERWISE YOU WILL GET BLUE SCREENS ALOT. NOT VERY STABLE WITH VISTA 64-BIT. BUYER BEWARE. |

Great board for price!
Comment:
I bought this in a bundle from Tiger Direct. I've always used ASUS for my barebones because I have never had issues with their Mobos nor has anyone I know that builds. Everything on the board is well labeled, making parts installation a breeze. I was able to put it all together in about 20 minutes. I would have liked to have onboard WIFI, but that's okay. There's an expansion slot for a WIFI card anyways. As for graphics performance, get a GPU to add on to this as well. It does okay with basic things but when the intensity of graphics increases, it can bog down the system a bit. I would recommend this to anyone who is a beginner builder or for someone who wants a good mobo for a basic computer. |

good for the money
Comment:
Bought as part of a basic barebones package. Easy to install, and worked properly immediately. Only one PCI port, two SATA, one IDE, no floppy, so it is not very expandible, but good enough for my purpose, a general-purpose machine for my wife. |

Good Starter Board
Comment:
Simple and straight foward for first timers. Limited expansion, but good results off the bat. May get blue screens due to different setups, fash BIOS may help. |

Super for the cost!
Comment:
Well layed out and easy to install. Super value, however I would have liked 4 slots for memory, and two or more slots for add-on boards. Could use a good ENGLISH printed instruction book. Needs details in placement of wires to the motherboard posts as to positive/negative direction. All in all, the board is responsive, fast, and made by a good manufacturer. |

Works flawlessly with Ubuntu 9.04
Comment:
Very nice motherboard for the price. Installed Ubuntu 9.04 w/o any issues. |

Good cheap board
Comment:
This is a good board for putting together a lean and mean computer, but has little room for expansion. (Ex. one PCI slot) Make sure to read the specs so you'll know if this board has all the slots and plug-ins you need. |

Works great under Ubuntu
Comment:
Motherboard works great under Ubuntu linux, no hacking necessary. It could use another PCI slot and more SATA ports, but for the value it's a great board. |

Onboard audio issues and limited capabilities
Comment:
I got this board as part of a barebones kit. It suits it's purpose but is limited. There are only 2 sata and one ide connections. The board maxes out at 4gb of ram. The box was opened when I received it and the onboard audio was dead. ASUS techs confirmed this is an issue and offered an rma. I decided to drop a pci card in instead. |

Excellent performance, simple to set up
Comment:
This motherboard came as a part of a pakage with an AMD 9600 quad core processor. It was easy to set up and get going. I downgraded it a little on features because of the 1 PC slot but, overall I am very happy with the purchase. |

ASUS says it all!

A great basic board for the beginner or someone that want reliable equipment for the long haul. Easy to set up and to lightly overclock it you want. Thanks for carrying reliable reasonably priced equipment. |

Great board for the price. Only downside is it lacks IEEE 1384 connection. |

Nice motherboard
Comment:
Mother board has a good layout. Only one problem, would get a blue screen at times on bootup due to a firmware issue with a sata opticaldrive plugged into the motherboard. Found a fix on asus's web site. |

promises great things

I purchased this board 2 weeks ago. It was the fastest machine I had ever used. 10 days later, it would not recognise the dvd drives, 1 day later it wouldn't recognise the USB ports. ASUS never returned my calls or emails. This reatailer is exchanging for a different board, THANKS |

No complaints
Comment:
This is a good little board. Not alot of room for expansion, only 2 RAM slots, one PCIe port, no 3 pin port for a system fan. If you dont plan on upgrading however this will work just fine. The RAM slots are a little stiff and it was quite difficult to get new chips in there but other then that it works just fine. I have been using it 8 hours a day for a month now and I have not run into any problems. |

None Better!
Comment:
bought this as a part of a barebones system. easy to install. has been running for 2 weeks now and no problems. haven't tried any overclocking or any other tricks yet. with the exception of a few adjustments the factory settings work great. i have another asus board, a pc800e deluxe that is still going strong although not so fast now. as far as i'm concerned asus makes the best motherboards in the world. |

Great motherboard and great price
Comment:
I only by Asus motherboards and this being a "lower" end motherboard I was still pretty impressed at the quality for the money I spent. The only thing I was disappointed with was the fact that it only came with one SATA cable. I needed one for my DVDRW and one for the 250gb HDD. Luckily I had an extra cable, but other than the lack of cabling I was really impressed. |

Good basic motherboard!
Comment:
Not very expandable. Absolutely great for a system that will never be expanded very much. The standoffs in the kit were a bit too long and had to be trimmed a little bit. |

Ok board but not what I was looking for
Comment:
Not what I was looking for in a motherboard not enough sata |
I recently purchased this bundled along with a Phenom 4 AMD processor for $150. I was replacing a problematic board in my wife's machine and this fit the bill. I needed it to have on-board ethernet, on-board sound, support her 2 older 800mhz DDR2 ram sticks, her PCIe video card, her SATA hard disk, and her IDE DVD-ROM and this was a perfect value. I had no problems at all installing it or getting everything running again. In response to two other reviewers posts: 1. This board is working fine with MS Vista 64 bit. 2. The person who wants more than two memory slots might not want to be looking at a mATX ('micro' ATX) boards. Overall I thought this was a great replacement board until we eventually upgrade.
