Runs UBUNTU well, no problems
Comment:
The MB, CPU, fan, and memory arrived quickly, worked as promised, and now I have a high performance UBUNTU machine! I run 3 versions of Linus and windows on this lab machine. Works great. |

Nice MB. Outstanding performance for price, using with 2GB DDR2, AMD 6000 dual core and 8800GTS- higher windows meta score than my quad-core! Important note: if installing Vista Ultimate you must change the default bios to allow drivers to be loaded from OS. Also, provided anti-virus doesnt work with Vista (I am running Ultimate 64 bit)- no troubles. |

Great price for an awesome board. The lack of a second IDE channel (who uses that many, anyway?) and the floppy connector (believe it or not, I have a customer that still uses them) makes it feel a little cheap. Have had a problem with the BIOS. Board seems to lose its settings after being powered off for a few hours. Tested with replacement CMOS battery, no change. Flashed with BIOS updated 4/2009. No change. RMAing this board. Hopefully the replacement will uphold Asus' long tradition of quality. |

I have used this board on several builds, and have found it easy to install and drivers load easily. Used mostly on Xp builds, and two Vista builds. Works very well, but note if you for som reason are still using a 3.5'' floppy - there is no socket on this board. |
I was building a computer for my girlfriends dad and this did the trick. It didnt need to be anything amazing; I say this because i would never put this into a computer of mine, Just because it is not that upgradeable. Only 2 RAM slots, 2 SATA, and 1 IDE. But I must say for a family computer or a computer that wouldn't be for gaming and such it would be a good motherboard. I wouldn't be surprised if I use this mobo again in another computer build. Thumbs up!
