Good board, need to improve
Comment:
Good board, but ESD is not good, it is frequently restarted if ESD happens |

Great motherboard
Comment:
Great documentation. Easy to install. Great features. Works well with windows. I am using Linux Ubuntu and not sure if utilities exist for Ubuntu and it was a bit more complicated to install the video drivers. |

ASUS M4A785-M Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:still no multichannel PCM support over HDMIlittle benefit over the 780G
Pros:CheapHDMIDecent onboard videohybrid crossfire technologybuilt in surge protection Comment:
This board is great for budget HTPC builds. I put in a phenom quad-core AM3 processor and it worked no problem. I've used several 780G boards for HTPC builds and I didn't see much difference to be honest. I'm surprised they didn't add multichannel PCM support which would've been nice. |

SEEMS GOOD AND RELIABLE
Comment:
It's a dandy lil mobo. The only problem I had was that the tower and this Mother board were put into a barebones deal right after I bopught them.. bummer for me I could have saved some more money. But the Asus is good and I can't wait to update to a 64 bit OS. |

ASUS M4A785-M Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:-Doesn't support DDR3 ram
Pros:-Simplifies overclocking-Cheap-Video/Audio included-Good amount of USB ports Comment:
I purchased this with the AMD II X4 630 and 6 gigs of kingstom value ram and couldn't be happier with the performance. There are no compatibility issues and the inclusion of on board video/audio is perfect for a budget pc that will be used for web browsing/emails. |

No major problems
Comment:
I bought this mobo bundled with the amd Phenom. Everything works as advertized, but i wish it had eSATA and firewire plugs. The only other thing i can complain about is the location of the SATA connectors. The SATA connectors are located on the corner of the board and have no support. The board flexes badly everytime you push in a connector. Nothing major. |

Great Value Mobo
Comment:
i always trust Asus and their boards have been flawless with me. I bought this board for a build for my mother and she definetely has no complaints upgrading from a single core slow-mo to a quad-core performance machine. |

Great product for the money

I got this motherboard bundled with an AMD Athlon II X4 620. Installation and setup was easy and up and running with XP Pro quickly. Running for 10 days with no problems. Onboard graphics better than I expected for the price! Great value for $79.99. |

Great upgrade
Comment:
Nice board, easy install. Bought this to upgrade to PCI v2.0, HDMI, etc. Ran Athlon X2 4600 cpu until deal on Athlon II X4 630. Still running DDR2-4200 memory from old pc until memory prices drop. LG L206WTQ 1680x1050 can do 70 Hz but doesn't work with this board on DVI cable. Runs great at 1680x1050 60Hz with VGA cable. Not sure if problem is with board or with monitor. Plan to change to HDMI cable when upgrading monitor. |

easy install works great
Comment:
used the bios default settings, installed xp pro and the drivers from the cd with no problems. not extremely fast but very stable. will be installing windows 7 64bit soon. imagine 7 will run faster than xp, with 7 being able to take advantage of the quad core. not running any extra cards so the fact that it doesn't have many expansion slots is not an issue for me. great board for the price |

Great Value and Performance
Comment:
I read other reviews so this MOBO is the one I needed for my upgrade. Went home installed it and long story short. Would not go pass bios setup screen. Would have to press F2 to go to desktop. Called asus told them they said the board is shot to get a new one. Went all the way back to the store exchanged for a new one and works perfect now. Great options for overclocking. I run Windows 7 64bit. No problems. I am goin to be gettin the PhenomII Black 3.5 mhz with 4 sticks corsair 1100 total 8 gigs ram soon. Boot time should be in about 10 sec. |

ASUS M4A785-M Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:Only have 2 pci slot but dont really need more. It's only because the new video card take a lot of place and the other pci was very tight.
Pros:Small motherboard. Really easy to fit on computer case. Got it on sale with quad core amd for 150$ Comment:
Great board for the price. Small board. Include norton 2009 antivirus.. Can't go wrong for the price. Affordable board for almost everyone that's not game a lot. |

Works great so far
Comment:
Built my own system, running for a week. MOBO installed OK, Motherboard connections were legible though a bit small lettering. Manual diagrams really helped. Everything worked great on first boot up. Would be nice to have another PCI slot. |

Great Item

I got this MB as a combo with the II x4 620. They both install nice and fast and i have never done so befor. I upgraded from a HP board with a 3800. This new board and cpu are much faster. The software that comes with the MB is great. Looks as tho I could use it to OC it if i wished I dont. Every thing started up first try. Only problem i had was the wiring from the power button and leds it didnt have same plug. But this only took a little reading from the manual that came with new one to solve. The install and setup took me about 2 hours. I am very happy with it and so much faster. Buy it and enjoy it. |

Great motherboard
Comment:
I bought this motherboard for my new workstation - it works wonderfully with the exception of the sound card - which ALSA doesn't properly support so under Linux you will have issues. Under XP64 it works good, aside from a loud pop when muting |

Not an overclocker
Comment:
Great motherboard. Got it hooked up to a Phenom II 550 and unlocked to four cores (which was really easy to do). Recommend upgrading the heatsink. Tried overclocking manually but it seems not to like when I do that. So I've stuck with Asus' overclock profile (another great feature) at 10%. Great mobo if your not an overclocker. |

onboard nvidea would be easier
Comment:
Using this in a linux media center computer I'm building. Everything works great, however (though not fault of ASUS), Linux likes nVidea devices much better than ATI. I've done my workarounds with that, and overall I'm super satisfied. |

The express gate feature is pretty neat I like it. The integrated 4200 gpu isn't AMAZING for games but was playable, actually i was surprised when I installed grid and left 4 dead. I was more or less at medium settings getting good fps with a 620 quad core and 2gb of ram. The driver CD came with all sorts of stuff and overclocking utilities but I haven't tried em out yet. Very nice board for the price. |

I bought this motherboard to my sister , she wanted a good onboard graphic and this baby has a very nice one . It has a lot of nice features . I recommend it . TOP Quality at its best. Thx ASUS. |
If you're like me not into computer games, motherboards with built-in graphics are a good way to go. This motherboard got windows experience index scores of 3.6 for graphics and 5.2 for gaming graphics. It didn't recognize my DDR2 1066MHz memory from the start but many motherboards miss that. It was just a minor inconvenience, to manually set the clock speed in bios setup to 533MHz, leave the latency and voltage settings on auto, and it worked.
