One of the Best MB I have ever used
Comment:
Pros: Full upgradeablity. Going from AM2 to AM3 will be a piece of cake. I needed a MB for Windows 7 upgrade and this worked great. Plugged in CPU and added memory and up and running it went. Cons: Nothing I can find. I have been repairing computers for almost 30 yrs with building, upgrading and configuring computers, networks and other outside devices and I have always found ASUS MB one of the better products on the market. |

It's not stable
Comment:
It is a low end board that is not stable. I was trying to run it with Windows 7 32 bit. I found I had to go back to Win XP. |

Worked out of the box
Comment:
This is a great product. Easy installation, easy flash upgrade. The only complaint I have is that it does not support DDR3, but I knew that before I bought it. |

Awesom MB
Comment:
This MB is great -- first of all, it runs PERFECTLY WITH WINDOWS 7 (I don't know why they don't state this on their site). However, thing I was most excited about was how (after a BIOS update) it unlocked my AMD Phenom II 550 BE dual core cpu to a quad core without me really having to do anything!! |

Good Mid Range board
Comment:
the individual items were packed by their respective manufacturers very well, but they took almost no precautions in its packaging. Install was relatively easy, and i had the board up and running in less than 30 minutes. the PCI slots are a little too close to the PCIE x16 for my tastes, as video cards with a decent size fan get a little too close to the first PCI slot. the included CD was very well put together, making installing the drivers and utils very easy to install.. All in all a good purchase, and would purchase it again, but perhaps not from here. |

ASUS M4A785-M Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:PCI slots too close to PCI-E slot so the Radeon 3870 I hooked up blocks 1 PCI slot so only one usable.
Pros:Ease of set up.Recognizes Windows 7 right away.Extra drivers not needed after hardware hook up.Easy to navigate BIOS4 RAM slots on a Micro ATX Mobo! Comment:
I was surprised at how easily everything worked once I connected all my hardware. Honestly. I just hooked it all up and fired it up. Everything worked, it was that simple. Even my USB internet stick worked without me adding any other drivers. Of coarse I updated all the drivers anyhow but it was nice to see everything working right away like that as it makes life much easier.Anyone who has built a few systems would agree. This isn't a board for a hardcore overclocker though imo, however if you want to a very stable board that's easy to hook up and wish to overclock moderately for a good price then this is for you. Also whenever I buy hardware I always try to buy from companies that have their RMA centre in Canada. Just in case I need to send it to get fixed. If you have to send it to the USA the duties and shipping charges will often equal the cost of a new board.MSI and ASUS both have RMA centres in Canada. Just in case some people need to know that so I try to stick to these makers as much as possible for that reason. |

Good motherboard
Comment:
I got this mobo as part of an early xmas present to myself and put in an Athlon II X2 245, 4 gig RAM, a 320 gig HD, and an old CD-ROM I had in my basement. Booted up Fedora 12 first time no problem and all the sockets seem to be working correctly - USB, DVI, HDMI, VGA, audio out, SATA, IDE, Ethernet. I haven't tried the optical out yet, but it seems like a cool feature if you're going to playing movies. The BIOS is pretty user friendly and supports various voltage and clocking tweaks, although all of mine are set to 'auto' right now. The Asus manual is really good too compared to most others I've read. A good mobo for the price. I'd buy this again. |

to ther person saying that W7 is not compatible. Not sure about that comment. I have this mobo and have had no problems going to W7 - I originally had the 32 bit version, bought more RAM and went to 64 bit, no problems at all. Even on the W7 compatibility table, it shows this motherboard supported on both 32 and 64 bit versions of W7. Just pointing it out for any other buyers out there. |

Awesome Motherboard
Comment:
This motherboard is the best I have ever purchased, just a few notes: Asus ExpressGate is not installed by default and must be loaded from a Windows Enviroment. Onboard RAID requires at least four of the 6 SATA ports weather or not all for have drives in them. leaving only two for other hard drives and devices. Requires a lot of tweaking to get to work with most Linux OS. |

Not compatable with W7
Comment:
I was considering purchase of this M.B. I went to the ASUS web site and this product does not have W7 logo associated with it. The Asus web site did state that their M.B. do have W7 support. |

a really good MB
Comment:
Good motherboard. Besure to download latest revision of drivers and utilities. Smart board with EPU controller, can adapt to needs and save electricity. Be sure to put a matched and best pair of DIMMs on the Black RAM sockets first, then the blue ones. Have an Ath II x4. One complaint: on-MB graphic is good, but cough up another $70 for a graphic board and Flight Sim X become ever so smooth. Another complaint: ripping DVD speed is so comparable to my other P33 ($50) MSI AM3 mb with DDR3 and a x2 Ath cpu. In fact, for ripping, the MSI board with dual core above is a bit faster than this ASUS with x4 core. Don't know why... |

Quality product

I have built several PCs and this is the best quality and ease of installation I have seen. Be sure to download the latest software when you can but you must copy the LAN driver from the CD first. |
This board was a great buy i used this board for a gamming PC and it works great coupled with the Athlon II CPU that i have O.C'd to a wopping 3.4GHZ and running stable GOOD BUY FOR THE MONEY!!!!!!!!!
