ASUS M4A79T Deluxe ATX DDR3 AMD Motherboard
Cons:Depending on the aftermarket CPU cooler and height of the RAM modules, they may not physically fit in the orange slots, but will work on the black ones.
Pros:Good design layout with many features that lower-end boards might not have (4 PCI-E slots, 4 fan headers in total). Comment:
Pros:Purchased this with the AMD Phenom II X4 955BE processor at a great price as one of NCIX' bundle deals. Shipped with BIOS revision 1303 that already supports the X4 955BE. Overally, the number of features on the board is impressive.Cons:1) Could not get the CPU or chassis fan headers to work with the OCZ Vendetta 2 fan or the Cooler Master 200 mm Megaflow fans on a HAF 922. All fans are within electrical current specifications of the fan headers as stated in the motherboard manual. Fans were either not spinning or spinning slowly.2) High pitch electronic noise coming from the motherboard near the on-board On/Off and Reset switches. Both problems are minor inconveniences and might just be my bad luck. |

ASUS M4A79T Deluxe ATX DDR3 AMD Motherboard
Cons:Stock BIOS shipped with this board does not support the higher end Phenom II's out of the box.
Pros:Very solid board, has very good build quality. The 4 PCI-E slots are a must, and the power/reset on board are nice. Comment:
I purchased this board along with a AMD Phenom II X4 955, the BIOS out of the box does not support this CPU so I was forced to buy another CPU to flash it (or get NCIX to flash it for ~$30).The board has performed solidly and has a very logical layout for the PCI/PCI-E slots. I am currently running 2 PCI-E cards on this (one video and one RAID) and I plan on purchasing a second PCI-E card for Crossfire which is one of the reasons I purchased this board.Had no problem getting RAM to run at 1600Mhz, however the "DDR3 Memory Profile" is confusing and probably unneeded in the BIOS. |

ASUS M4A79T Deluxe ATX DDR3 AMD Motherboard
Cons:exotic cooling materials
Pros:Deneb 45nm Phenom II X4 955 OC: 7.127GHz Comment:
A group named LimitTeam successfully overclocked AMD's Deneb 45nm Phenom II X4 955 processor (Black Edition) back on April 30, and submitted the results for validation to CPU-Z. During the process, the group used the Asus M4A79T Deluxe motherboard, dubbed as the Asus "multidimensional performance platform" featuring support for an AMD 140W CPU and the AMD 790FX/SB750 chipset. Additionally, the group threw in 4 GB of DDR3 memory from Apacer Technology and a ATI Radeon HD 4800 series graphics card. As a result, the group reached 7.127 GHz, beating the previous score of 6.7 GHz. However, LimitTeam didn't reveal any specifics in regards to cooling during the overclocking process.Late last month, AMD said that it managed to hit 7 GHz in "extreme overclocking tests," more than doubling the original 3.2 GHz clock speeds enjoyed right out of the box. Apparently the CPU can be safely overclocked at home with speeds up to 3.8 GHz; anything greater will need "exotic cooling materials."http://www.tomshardware.com/news/AMD-Phenom-II-Overclocked,7747.html |

Runs fine with 4gb Patriot Viper Extreme PC3 12800 at 800 (X2) mhz 7-7-7-18,1T CR but doesn't like to run past 3200 mhz stable even at stock ram timings.Mabey with more tinkering. Overall, not too bad. |

ASUS M4A79T Deluxe ATX DDR3 AMD Motherboard
Cons:Expensive but you notice the quality difference right away over dfi.
Pros:AM3 processor is plug and play, no bios flashes needed like dfi mobo'sGreat cable layout, cleaner then my previous dfi boardCrazy amount of options in the bios for overclocking Clean looking and runs very cool. Rock stable Comment:
Upgraded to phenon 2 940 3ghz cpu with a DFI LP Dk 790FX-M2RS AMD790FX ATX AM2+ mobo with the latest bios. DFI said it would work no problems. lol It won't post so after trying everything to sort it, I rma'd it. After two weeks with no word back from dfi so I grabbed this mobo. No regrets, this mobo boots fast, I will be overclocking soon. Tomshardware did a review recently on this mobo with the 940 processor and they hit 4.08ghz stable on air. If your going Am3+ and want to stay with ddr2 this is the mobo for you. Asus for the win |
All in all a great motherboard for the price with the rebate and price match. I really only buy asus amd mother boards for all sorts of customer PC's and they haven't steered me wrong yet.
