So Far So very good not performed exploring every thing however but just wanted to put this review up to conserve other folks the headache I had acquiring Windows 7 to boot to a RAID drive. There are 2 RAID controllers on this board one particular for ports 1-four and another for five & six. The manual doesn't spell this out for you that I could find in the RAID set up instructions and if you don't load both drivers during the OS install you'll have lots of troubles after windows tries to reboot the very first time. Download the most up-to-date RAID drivers from the ASUS internet site.AMD RAID Driver V3.two.1540.35 for Windows 32ኜbit 7 JMicron JMB36X Controller Driver V1.17.54.two for Windows 32ኜbit XP & 32ኜbit Vista & 32ኜbit 7.Setting up the RAID in the Bios wasn't a issue, if you're not using SATA ports five & six for RAID drives its best to set them up as IDE soon after you set 1-four to RAID.When its time to load the drivers in Windows setup just be confident to load each even though you can see the RAID drive immediately after setting up just the AMD driver assuming you have your drives are hooked up on ports 1-four as I did with my 4 drives, 5 was my DVD/CD drive and 6 to the front eSATA port. I spent hours trying to figure out why it kept failing right after rebooting when I had only loaded the AMD RAID driver, I figured it out immediately after I loaded the OS and drivers to one drive and saw both RAID controllers in the Device Manager and tried once again successfully immediately after setting up both drivers in setup. |

Simply OC'd my Phenom 555 to 4.1 with extremely tiny effort.Worried about OpenBox status ... but functions wonderful Open Box doesn't consist of anything ... like the IO cover or manual or ...But I don't typically use the manual or CD anyway.** it did have the cabels and adaptors As far as I can inform, it has the similar bene's as the 890FX (for the most component) with a significantly decrease expense point. |

Sata3 6Gb/s on all 6 SATA ports w/ RAID ,1,5,ten assistance, USB3. ports, OC options, Motherboard Fan Controls, HDMI, DVI and VGA ports, Core Un-Locker, EPU power-saving, Cost.Nice combination and layout of the PCI slots. Core un-locker was ridiculously uncomplicated to unlock my Sempy 140 to a Regor 4400e dual core. I just had to bump the Vcore a tad, haven't attempted the OC attributes yet but they look to be just as uncomplicated to overclock. My 8gb of Kingston HyperX KHX1600C9D3B1K2ǚGX memory was recognized and set in the BIOS. It was almost also easy to setup and install every thing. The Sempron 140 processor was just a test till I install my Athlon II X2 250. The EPU power management is excellent! My APC UPS is displaying idle wattage at 30-35w surfing the net and 60-65w loaded with OCCT anxiety test (Sempy 140 at this time). I run a M4A88TD-M/USB3 with most of the exact same functions in my HTPC (Athlon II X2 250) and it idles even lower ྴ-25w). I hope to make this mobo my new HTPC/Server. I wish they would have produced all the SATA ports right-angle. Also I didn't care for the ports getting split between 2 controllers. They need to shed the switch card for the PCIe two. that permits the total 16 lanes to the second slot. Also, I wish they would proof-read the manuals by a person who speaks English as a main language. It's difficult to respect a company when the manuals have uncomplicated spelling errors. It puts a little blemish on an otherwise amazing, finely-engineered item Fan controls in the BIOS are amazing. I can set the two chassis fans for quiet mode and it runs as silent as can be, throttling down my rather noisy 92mm fans to a whisper. |

Nicely built. Nice Heatsinks. Runs cool. Stable.Extreme Overclocking abilities. Core Unlock. CPU improve. Automatic overclocking if your into that. You can take your RAM overclocking to a whole new level. Looks excellent. Excellent board layout.Very recommend updating to the newest BIOS when you get this girl up and operating. Improves response time and stability substantially from stock. Even with quickly boot enabled and expressgate disabled. Bought this as an Open Box, and was great an superb selection. The only defect was an missing spring loaded push pin that popped off the north bridge heat-sink. I applied one more push pin from an old board I had lying about. Difficulty fixed. |

It arrived on time, the box is informative.. The 1st and second motherboard arrived DOA. The third motherboard I am getting some issues with, horizontal fuzzy lines across the screen although setting up the BIOS upon start-up. I get in touch with newegg on the return policy, I was out of the nation for a small though, and they sent me to ASUS. Their systems had been down. I speak to technical help and say that they feel there is some thing wrong with the motherboard so I send it in with the VGA card, upon the individual's request who I spoke with. I get the board back saying that there are no complications, okay that is fine I just have to fiddle with it some a lot more or some other component is not working...but they do not return my VGA card so now I cannot see if I can set it up on my personal or regardless of whether I have to send it off to a personal computer shop for assembly. I call and leave messages at the ASUS CA workplace and get no reply. I have had two "experts", the head tech at my college and a guy who builds computers and writes programs for orbital satellite effectiveness, and they say the motherboard is the issue. An ASUS rep who I spoke with more than the telephone believed it was the motherboard as properly. 1 day this machine will work with or without this motherboard |

This was my 4th decision right after 3 DOA motherboards. Nearly went with a GIGABYTE. Ultimately 1 that worked. The software that comes with the board is fantastic, uncomplicated to follow and use. There are a great deal of alternatives for setup in the BIOS as nicely as the utilities. None at this time |

RAID controller, SATA 3 interfaces, supports Phenom II X6 1100T. Every thing worked fantastic out of the box (except for the video which is the reason for the 4 star rating, see below). On board video was not capable of supporting it's highest resolution x 1080) utilizing an HDMI connection to an Asus VE228H 21 inch HD LED monitor, had a black border about entire screen. Ended up paying for a video card capable of higher resolution in order to have total screen picture at 1920 x 1080 (per Asus tech help course). I've never ever had any Significant troubles with Asus items. Constantly been extremely stable and no RMAs due to D.O.A. |

Great board. I bought this through Black Friday for a steal (around 115.00), and it has worked solidly ever given that. I'm operating a Phenom II 955, and 8 GB of G.Skill DDR3 with no troubles whatsoever. Construction was certainly higher good quality upon very first inspection (nice heatsinks, solid caps, etc.). Plenty of ports for almost everything you want (USB 3., lots of USB two., Firewire, plenty of SATA III ports). Could not praise this board adequate. There are a lot of boards with comparable characteristics priced 50-one hundred more than this 1, so the value is undoubtedly here. Wish it came with some additional SATA cables, but 2 seems to be the industry standard these days, and for the cost I'm not complaining whatsoever. |

excellent board, wonderful layout, runs incredibly cool. realtek sound processing functions wonderful for what i require the onboard realtek LAN on mine is "buggy"/"broken"... if the computer system would go to sleep, and you woke it up, anything would wake up except the LAN card/function. if you have gadgets or attempt to access your device manager, it would lock up windows. the only repair was to restart the entire method. so then say, if you restarted and every thing was working, the world wide web would turn itself off on its own, randomlyi purchased an intel PCIe x1 LAN card and every little thing is great now, does every thing i require it to dothat's the challenge with getting products on the web vs. brick and mortar outlets, it's at least a two week turnaround time to RMA anything. it was substantially less complicated to invest ฮ on a separate NIC, wish i could be refunded for that dollars... that's how RMA's ought to workis it weird that i'm utilizing an Intel card in an all AMD board? running this in an HTPC:NMediaPC 2000B CaseAsus M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 BoardVisiontek 5450 graphicsAMD Athlon II X4 615e 45W CPUWD 1.5TB GP drive4GB DDR3-1333 memory |

Even though this is a solid motherboard and I do like ASUS as a company, the initial DIMM slot for the memory bank has gone poor soon after a month, still covered under warranty. I just hate that I have to pay to have something shipped that was shipped to me defective. Placement of sata cables 5 and six are off to the side and kinda hard to get also. Also the motherboard doesn't have a floppy connecting. I know I'm living in the previous but it' great to have if you are simulating loading drivers on an older OS in a virtual machine. |

Braindead simple to configure. Runs super cool. Incredibly stable. Very high good quality components. Surprisingly great discrete onboard GPU. Surprisingly great onboard sound ( technical SNR better than most sound cards). Quite energy efficient. I couldn't get it to boot with a difficult drive plugged into the IDE port until I updated the BIOS. Derp, I ought to've updated the BIOS right right after taking it out of the box anyways. If you turn on the Core Unlocker or the Turbokey functions it looks like the Computer is boot looping but it's actually operating tests. I wish the manual had told me that. I wish I could give this board 11 eggs. If you're building a budget Computer you can stick this board in with some RAM and a inexpensive difficult drive and have a decent gaming program. |

Awesome motherboard, super easy to install. Asus showed a lot of believed in making this the easiest motherboard I've ever installed. It coves with four SATA cables ƒx 6 Gb/s & 2x 3Gb/s) 1 IDE. The video card only scores four.6 in Widows 7 so I would buy a different video card. I installed a ATI 5750 and the score shot up to 7.4. |

Asus has just lately announced that this board will perform with the forthcoming AMD Bulldozer CPUs that, according to initial reports, run 150% more quickly than comparable Intel Sandy Bridge CPUs. Now I can't vouch for the veracity of the speed tests, but the complete article on compatibility with the new Bulldozer CPUs is at http://event.asus.com/mb/AM3_PLUS_Ready/ Don't know of any yet. The Bulldozer CPUs are also be known as AM3+ CPUs. This news is new as of late March 2011 and I doubt if resellers have had time to incorporate it into their item descriptions.Asus tech help, by the way, is in the U.S. Occasionally it's pretty darned great, sometimes it is awful. However Asus does honor its warranties, which is fantastic news. |

Lots of USB ports, AMD Processor manipulation and overclocking, integration with ASUS CrossfireX Graphics Cards. The drivers for the Ethernet Port for Windows 7 64bit are negative. The port only performs in Secure Mode with Networking. When the Overall performance Monitor loads when you boot commonly, the port quickly fails. Fantastic overall design but the RealTek 8111E Gig Ethernet Port and subsequent drivers are poor. This is a very undesirable version and must be avoided at all cost! |
It performs fine with OC attributes. Not that I truly care considerably for OC but its good to know it there if I ever need to have to run apps.RAM compatibility function is a simple and good notion. Just one way to diagnose if it did not boot. Minus 1 egg for HDMI obtaining no volume. Took me a week to figure it out. It seems that a lot of persons have this concern with Asus boards. It was one thing so straightforward that was over looked. Realtek high deff driver conflicted with Asus driver or Windows & driver.. To fiz it you ought to uninstall realtek's audio driver. Go to manage pannel; sound; and pick hdmi output. This will not perform unless you uninstall realtek's driver. As pointed out earlier it boots up quite slow. i dont mind waiting a couple of seconds.. All round. Its a fantastic MB for my use. Lots of characteristics that I dont use.
