This is an amazing board. It has most all the bells and whistles that you want plus much more. The board has incredible overclockabilty, for each the CPU and Ram. A single of the nicer characteristics is the mem ok button, exactly where you can reset your ram back to standard if you incorrectly overclocked it. The only con is the layout. The ram is pretty close to the cpu, producing an immediately after industry heatsink a tiny a lot more tricky. I am running a Thermaltake Frio on my board and it blocks the very first memory slot. Excellent all about board.

Fantastic board with great utilites for an overclocking newb. Immediately after a week of use the on board eithernet slot kept loosing connection and occasionally would cease function until i power off the power provide and wait for the onboard led to power down. I added an old eithernet card the board and immediately after two days the identical dilemma accured. Frustrated i accidently touched the board with the card while pulling it out and caused a spark and now functions perfectly. Hope this board lasts as long as my old 939 socket asus motherboard.

well layed out. sata ports clear graphic cards. The install is step by step in the manual. Fit effectively in Antec DF-30 situation. The bios was much more difficult then the msi I have installed just before. the front panel audio port is on the lower aft part of the board. If your case ports are in the prime of the front panel you may possibly require an extention.

Excellent all around board lots of usb ports...nice and sturdy..incredibly nicely built I purchased this board open box just to come across out that I required a "special" lil' card to obtain X16 on the PCI-e slot..I am out 贄.00 on the open box a single that I bought. I ended up shopping for a second board and now I am stuck with a board that can only run X8 when using one Video Card...BTW ASUS does not sell the vga switch card on their internet site.

I've constantly bouth ASUS motherboards. This time around, i bought an ASROCK and applied with my Phenom x6 but alas! all i had was BSOD's.Purchased this board and NO Much more troubles. Its really strong board but Be Careful, Asus sent me a motherboard that was BENT on the correct corner (where the USB ports are).Because i currently ran nto difficulties with ASROCK, i didnt want to go via RMA headachs. THIS is the Initial time ASUS has let me down like this. Efficiency-wise this board will rock your residence computer. But i really feel extremely bad that my motherboard is BENT from the proper corner that tends to make it harder for me connecting USB devices on the Top ports, along with the Keyboard :-( Efficiency = five EggsBent Board = 3 EggsAvg = ƕƱ)ǘ = 4. So four Eggs is what i give ASUS Efficiency is awsome.Motherboard was BENT upon receipt. It CAN NOT be newegg's fault simply because there was no scratches or anything on the packaging and even the motherboard box. It was the board itself (BENT) ahhhhhhhhhh.. i hate this happend to my board and not certain about the RMA as that's also considerably to do..

Very good component placement. Great IO port backplate. High good quality capacitors. Highly configurable BIOS. Best fan speed controls I've seen on a motherboard at this value point. VGA "terminator" necessary in the other PCIe slot when running with a single discreet graphics card. Flaky POST when handling keyboard input (see below).Lengthy POST since it initializes the AMD SATA RAID *and* initializes the JMicron JMB836X IDE controller throughout POST. The AMD SATA RAID initialization is expected, but waiting for the JMicron selection ROM to load is frustrating. Presumably it supports RAID, but that would be pointless because the motherboard provides one particular IDE channel. You can disable the loading of the solution ROM for this chip, but that tends to make the process unable to boot from a Windows 7 DVD. The drive is nonetheless recognized in BIOS (under a diverse name), but will not boot if it is selected in the boot menu. I can't say if the drive would nevertheless be visible in a full Windows installation right after drivers were loaded, since I haven't tried it. There is an concern with my board when inputting essential presses in the course of POST. I've observed situations over 50% of the time where it will either not respond to key input or instantly reboot after a crucial press or multiple important presses. This can happen when pressing del for BIOS setup, F8 for a boot menu, Ctrl+F for RAID setup, or pressing a important to boot from the Windows installation DVD when prompted.*I want to be clear that I have observed NO stability concerns when Windows setup is loaded or when operating Windows with the personal computer full load. What I'm describing here only takes place for the duration of POST, and it only takes place when pressing keys to enter BIOS setup, and so forth. There is no rebooting as soon as you've managed to essentially get into the BIOS or RAID setup. It takes me two or 3 tries to get there, though. Sometimes, instead of rebooting, it will tricky lock to a black screen and demand the reset button.I tried two diverse keyboards and knowledgeable the similar problem.

This board has anything but the kitchen sink you will need to have in an AMD motherboard. ASUS is working on the bios to assistance Bulldog when it comes out. Not negative for future growth.Tweakers and Overclockers will appreciate all the fine tuning capabilities this board supports. No Kitchen Sink? I am presently running an AMD 1100T processor, eight gig (DDR3 2000) Corsair XMS memory @ 1600, ƒ) Gigabyte Radeon 6850's, WD 1TB Drive, Windows 7 Ultimate.Of course, all of this wouldn't be achievable if it wasn't for our friends at Newegg.

If you don't care about making use of the USB headers, this board is for you. Went through 2 of these boards hoping the 2nd one wouldn't have the same USB issue as the initial. I was wrong and Asus wanted to send me a 3rd board. NOPE.Returned the replacement to Asus and the original to Newegg and bought a Gigabyte board with the same features. Operating just fine - and guess what - no USB troubles to lock up my computer. Newegg was superb with consumer help. The RMA approach was smooth and simple with them. Asus mentioned this dilemma was "very unusual and obscure". Read some a lot more critiques right here and choose for your self how unusual it is.It's as well poor since I've been a enormous Asus fan for a extended time and built numerous computer systems making use of their parts.Following this knowledge, I'm not sure if I'll use them once again.

There are a lot of settings to tweak the bios. Good possibilities such as potential to modify cores on CPU. You can run crossfire employing onboard and one particular video card. Supports many distinct varieties of DDR3 ram. USB3 help and 6gb SATA If you are making use of a single video card, you have to install in bottom PCI E slot to get x16 speeds. If you have a big card, this can cover one of the pci slots.

This board had a lot of attributes I wanted. I was concerned about the high number of a single & two egg testimonials but a friend had built a technique with it that has functioned well. The odds of a great board are nonetheless very good, but somebody must draw the black bean. I drew the black bean. No video with onboard hdmi & vga nor with a video card that I know to be great. Tested all as very best as I could & decided board was the problem. RMAed it and purchased ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 AM3. New board worked first time. It appears that this board good a fantastic review and they started out cranking them out without having adequate checks. Up till now I have had total confidence in ASUS getting bought a number of of their items. They are all topic to getting doa units, but the testimonials tell me that this boards production line has issues. At least new board is operating.

Exactly where to begin...lots of bios choices, 2 pwm fan headers (and two three pin), sata three and you can switch the mode of the last two sata ports independently (ide, raid, ahci), diagnostic leds, staggered dimm slots, ASUS reliability. The construct good quality is impressive. This board is solid and just plain looks excellent. I like the blue and black theme. I have to nitpick and say that I don't like that the very first four sata ports are not 90 degrees. You'll get people complaining about both but I find the 90s are superior for cable management. Express Gate appears to extend the post time a bit even when it's disabled - slightly annoying. I have 2 other ASUS boards and their interest to detail is refreshing. This is way more board than I need to have but man does it look fantastic.

For what I look at a spending budget board you can\'t go incorrect with it. Asus Does it once more. A lot of attributes and a plethora of overclocking capabilities. With no over clocking and stock fan got truly high temps just using the core unlocker. Used stock fan to see how it would run before installing an right after market 1. Will purchase once more.

USB3, SATA 6, decent on-board video. This board has critical stability problems with continuous random black screens and restarts. At times I would have one of my cores shut down/ sometimes not. Random error messages on post that “core unlocker can not be activated with this processor”. Named Asus for tech assistance and was promptly told that the processor was undesirable, which was my initial thought. Sent processor back to Newegg. New processor, same issues. One more contact to Asus- then told by a different tech that it was a power provide problem. I responded "the initially tech was incredibly swift to tell me it was a processor problem and now you're speedy to tell me it's a PS problem. Are there some attainable bios adjustments you might know about that could support the stability issue I'm having." The tech then responded with a very arrogant and brief response- "there is nothing at all that could be accomplished in the bios and if you don't want my help, there is absolutely nothing I can do". Board went back to Newegg and I purchased a GA-890FXA. No issues with the GA MOBO. ASUS, if you’re reading: 1.Steve from the Indiana call center wants some add’l training in client service. two. I have been a die challenging ASUS fan for the last 17 years. Yes, 17 years I have been making my own and other ‘puters and right after this encounter with your apparent path to the tech support centers to not take any ownership of MOBO concerns and to create misdirection to the caller, it’s going to be a very, incredibly lengthy time, if ever, that I try another board from you. If Gigabyte continues with the top quality level I see in the GA-890, it’s unlikely that I’ll switch from them. This was also the first time ever that Newegg did me wrong. I had purchased two of these ASUS boards Ƒ from Newegg and 1 from a nearby retailer & both boards were undesirable) and when wrapping them up for returning, I sent the wrong board back to Newegg. Newegg would not credit me for the board. I’ve been burned for 贶. So a lot for danger-no cost on the net tech purchases. And weeee, there goes my dedication to Newegg.

USB three., DDR3, SATA RAID; I built my rig within an hour of receiving the remaining parts and it runs way slick.Has onboard video sufficient enough to run Starcraft two fantastic, so am waiting for a game I want just before I obtain a GPU card or two. SATA RAID: It's often the little items, but I wanted to RAID "Stripe" my two identical brand/model 1T drives together to get a small a lot more speed out of the program. More than 24 hours after initially P.O.S.T. I nonetheless had not achieved OS load (Win7 Pro 64) with RAID striping; lastly gave up and just did one drive mainly because of ease! I required to cable SATA DVD drive to SATA port 6 (set BIOS to IDE emulation--manual indicates this) and only have 1 SATA hard drive plugged in to SATA port 1 (manual does not indicate this). ATTENTION HARDWARE Producers: If you'd like me to troubleshoot and/or test your beta hardware just before you ship it, please make contact with me via Newegg.Someday when I'm too bored of all my games, I will image my drive, get the most recent RAID chipset drivers from AMD.com, and try the RAID striping set up again. . . until then. . .I was surprised there was really a printed manual included; does any manufacturer truly do that anymore?

Works, boots speedily, supports my new build and all components fit with out difficulty:- CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V- AMD Phenom II X6 1090T- MSI N460GTX Cyclone 768D5/OC GeForce GTX 460- COOLER MASTER Hyper 212- G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB ƒ x 2GB) Initially, it POSTed only on uncommon occasions. This was working with my old Antec branded 450W power provide. From reading by way of the documentation, it wasn't apparent that this power provide was insufficient. Although it did lack an 8 pin EPS12V connector, it did have some sort of 4 pin equivalent (I'll admit that I'm a little out of date the present power supply terminology). The confusing element was that half of the 8 pin connector on the motherboard was covered with a plastic cap, which I took to mean that the four-pin connector my old PS supplied may be adequate.BUT, after replace my power provide with a 'CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V' 1, things are working properly. I haven't attempted to use the front panel USB connectors and I'm nevertheless operating the memory with its default settings.

Best quality parts and components, quickly oc'd my 1055t. All of my ram slots report 16gb No RAID on the Sata 6 ports, questioning if my LAN port is properly sending and receiving packets, but it still works in most instances. I have my sata DVD drive set to sata on the fiveƴ ports, not IDE and it runs perfectly fine. I don't know why a prior post said you had to do IDE emulation for a sata drive.

Board has a quite cool integrated heatsink, looks desirable in the case, plenty of room to perform with even for "fumbly fingered" indaviduals, manual has very in depth details that can support a initially time builder all the way up to a tough core enthusiast. BE Careful with what RAM you decide on to put in. Several users have has issues with the program not booting if you go the initial set up with dual channel RAM. At initially i was ticked since the mobo wouldn't boot. Apparently there are some negative hiccups on this factor in regards to dual channel memory. As soon as i got the kinks out, though, the program runs Fantastic and all the little characteristics are Genuinely enhancing the efficiency. At initial, one particular egg, dead board. NOW: five eggs, great board. Just be dilligent in picking the appropriate sort of supported RAM!
