Looks nice. Seemingly stable at 1st. Lots of functions. Not stable.Front-side USB ports bring about freezes as mentioned previously.Built-in video good for me, at least till I get a dedicated graphics card. This is my first assessment and I'm writing it mainly because of my irritation with this board. I find that I'm finding a random tour of Windows 7 64-bit blue-screen errors (never the exact same 1 twice!) with this board. I also get crashes when I boot into Linux. Granted, it's a lot more stable if I don't hook up the front-side USB ports which result in hangs regularly and regularly.I preserve ugrading the BIOS (using the one particular from 12ቻ񳏊 now) hoping it will enhance issues but not so far. I've run memtest for hours and my memory looks very good. I'm not OC'ing my AMD 1090T CPU. Making use of integrated video. I'm hoping I can finish this review before I see another blue screen. This board has made me intimately familiar with forcing Windows disk checks to fix errors brought on by unexpected crashes. It's now nicely past my Newegg warranty. This is the first time I've ever had to think about seeking for a new motherboard following acquiring one a few months ahead of.

The board was a breeze installing. It replaced an Asrock mobo. Immediately after removing the old board, and a cursory cleaning of the inside of the box, it took a tiny more than an hour to install. Soon after installation I flipped the switch to add cores and viola my X3 became an X4! The overclocking software program is pretty remarkable with one click I went from two.6 ghz to 3.2 ghz. At the moment I am working with the stock fan, and hope to do a lot more soon after that is corrected. With the heat pipes the board runs rather cool. 2 SATA's and the PATA plugs are on the edge of the board, making the SATA plugs virtually unusable, (big fat fingers). My heat pipe from my old build does not fit, due to the pipes close to the cpu.

Solid construction, nice blue color matches all my other led's, nonetheless operating... none but Every thing I threw into this mobo worked beautifully, no troubles whatsoever except for an inconsistent error with the board's turbokey feature. Either way its not a prob mainly because I don't will need it anyways. Fantastic board ASUS.

Booted up on very first install with no trouble. I also haven't had any complications with the front USB like 1 other individual mentioned. The only downside I found is the front panel audio connector is in a bad spot for those working with circumstances with bottom mount power supplies.

Not much more than my ุ ASUS M2N68-AM PLUS MOBO Ɣ year old technology). Supports the fancy new USB and SATA specs, but I don't think you can tell any difference. As per many other evaluations, front USB ports are unusable, trigger instant reset/reboot. For me, it also indicates I have to open the case and either take out the little battery, or remove a jumper, to reset the MOBO, or it won't reboot at all.By the time I figured out it was the MOBO, and not the case, an RMA was too late. Disappointing that a MOBO could truly ship with some thing like this, and on so numerous of them. Knocked ASUS down a notch in my opinion of them. Now I just use the USB ports on the back, and a hub for a lot more. Pretty darn inconvenient for a 贶 MOBO.

Board was incredibly simple to set up, and overclocking was basically turn crucial. have had no main problems setting up a dual boot win7/ubuntu program with this. However the core unlocking function leads to wonderful instability for my technique. when unlocking the cores on a phenom 555 factors went downhill quickly. I don't fault the board for this, but wanted to mention it so people today comprehend that not each and every cpu is going to be able to have cores unlocked without a hitch. Overall I am really pleased with this board.

I used this mobo for my step-brother build and it works like a charm with the x4 955. No need to buy a video card since he will only use Ms Office and surf the web.

This motherboard is properly priced and consists of a lot of extras to grow into. The 6 6gb SATA genuinely strengthen massive file transfers. I purchased many 2TBǜgb drives to offload my information files and using Total Commander I am seeing transfer rates that are outstanding.I have loaded the technique with 16 gig of G.Skill memory and have a 3Ware 8 port Raid controller supporting critical information files. I was in a position to unlock all 6 cores of my AMD processor without any troubles and I will start to overclock the technique immediately after I resolve the memory and video concerns noted beneath. I have experienced many blue screen reboots over the past couple of days. I believe some are memory associated considering that one of the four gig G.Skill memory mods failed a memory test last evening. I am, even so, also getting blue screen reboots based on the internal video chips attempting to reset and failing. This has occurred at least four occasions over the past 3 days. I will be re-seating the memory and performing extra tests more than the weekend, but it appears this board may possibly have problems with the video chips. I also notice a tiny flicker every two-three mins at the bottom of my digital display which once more suggests problems with the video. The mouse port for this board is USB only and when I attempted to convert my mouse it would not accept the USB conversion. I am working with a video switch box across many computer's. Because of this the express gate computer software does not enable for a mouse prior to method start-up, so the the express gate feature is worthless to me. I have built many system based on ASUS motherboards and this is the initially 1 with concerns. I am hoping I can clear up the memory concerns this weekend and then concentrate on the video issues.

Functions for me so far. Normal or OC, this is operating quite supporting an AMD 1100T 6 core proc and 16 GB of Vengeance RAM.The BIOS is unreal; teaming with characteristics and settings. Thoughts you, I haven't built a PC from scratch (Shuttle XPC fan here) for years before this but this BIOS is sweet. Just about every setting is offered to tweak. Directions, no so great...some parts are additional detailed than other people, particularly the power connections imo.

Worked out the box and has been going powerful. Haven't had a single issue with RAM timings or other hardware concerns. USB 3. is a plus. Picked up a 1 Tb 3. external from a particular large blue superstore (was บ less expensive than NewEgg and I get one more 10% off) and am seeing write speeds consistently around 80 MB/s and write at around 140 MB/s. Keeps locking the 3rd core of my 945. The core locking is random. Not knocking an egg off considering that its an effortless fix of going into the BIOS and unlocking the core again, but it's nonetheless a minor annoyance. I haven't ventured into OC'ing as I want to wait to get an right after-industry cooler and a SSD so I'll essentially get to see the efficiency acquire.

Pros:It more or less works currently.

The first board I picked up got returned the next day because it didn't work out of the box. The second started dying 2 months in. Tried to RMA back to ASUS but they expected me to fork over more cash AND go without a working computer for a MONTH. Will be trashing this and buying a Gigabyte board. Screw you ASUS!STAY AWAY FROM THIS BOARD!

This board was great for all the pieces i picked for it. Posted without any complications straightforward installation. Adore the Asus Express Gate.. amazing getting able to get on-line before the laptop or computer begins. The Turbo Switch and Core unlocker work like a charm :-) There is a problem with this motherboard if you have a VGA monitor. I have a GTX 460 and was utilizing the VGA to DVI adapter and every single-time i started a game my screen would flicker with white lines. Naturally I believed it was the video card and noticed it only happens when operating games. I RMA'd the card but even though it was at the post workplace I decided to find a DVI monitor. I employed my monitor on my pals computer who has the identical board and a diverse video card. Did the precise very same factor. Utilised distinct VGA/DVI converters and the very same challenge happened. Hooked up just DVI and it worked fine. (canceled my RMA)Tested this on three M4A89GTD/AM3 PRO USB three. boards. Applied three Diverse graphics cards, two Nvidia 񤀀gt/GTX460) and 1 ATI/AMD 񣅆). Used 3 VGA monitors and 1 DVI monitor.Luckily before buying a new monitor my friend noticed i had a DVI connection on my monitor next to the VGA but it was hidden. Now every thing works fine This all about is a fantastic board, if you only have a VGA monitor i can guarantee you will run into some issues. If you have a DVI monitor with no DVI cord.. buy 1 off newegg. I went and purchased one for 40 bucks when i could have gotten one from newegg for 11. I have not updated my bios so I will give that a shot. But right now im playing with my toy :)

I had to replace an MSI mobo with this one about 2 days ago.I have to say I'm never going to be using MSI again. This board is so much more better than my previous one. The pricing is absolutely great. The sata cables that come with the board are better looking too. Would purchase this again if had to.

Definitely aces everything thrown at itBundled ASUS utilities are pure goldConverted a die-hard Mac OS X user to Windows 7Quite easy to get tweaked the way one may possibly want PCIe slots ş and Š are wasted; slot Š takes GPU card, slot ş takes "vga card".... why have 16-channel anything if 1 entire slot is wasted...If you add a GPU into PCIe slot Š, then PCI slot ş is gone, Consequently, you are getting a five-slot board, not a 7-slot boardCan only rescue USB headers with added PCI bracket.IDE connector should be at a 90-degree angle upward, not parallel to the moboPC will not start off unless mobo energy fan connector left open... fan works anyway... For the price, it's hard to imagine receiving a board that could outperform this one. Having stated that, it also is of note that the VGA port on the built-in Catalyst 4290 port pulls a ŕ." on the Windows 7 64-bit expereince meter... ouch! a DELL Inspiron 1525 with INTEL 950GS chipset pulls a 3.4Windows 7 Knowledge scores:Processor: 7.4 (Phenom II X4 965)Memory: 7.5 (XMS3 DDR three 1333)Graphics: 6.8 (ASUS GeForce 240릘/DDR5) full AeroGaming: 6.8Challenging Drive: five.9 (Seagate 5900ǗTB/SATAII)

Great price and was on sale. When I got it, every little thing was working fine. Everything was working properly until my system would randomly freeze and/or would suddenly crash. I would just see lines on my monitor. I wouldn't be able to reset and I'd have to shut it off completely by the PSU and turn it on once again through the PSU. Just nowadays it crashed and now it won't go through BIOS. It's been four hours since it happened and it Nonetheless won't even go to BIOS. Won't POST either. I even tried clearing the CMOS and still absolutely nothing. Nonetheless won't POST or go through BIOS. I was expecting this to not give me ANY problems, but it only lead to disappointment. I believed ASUS was a excellent, reputable brand but I guess the defects show up following a month or much more of use.

I am not into overclocking, I wanted a motherboard that is good quality. This motherboard will give me everything I am interested in: easy to work with replacing/upgrading components, easy to flash the BIOS, well labelled for building. However the big problem I ran into was RAM compatibility. The first set of RAM I bought was Kingston value RAM (sku 41264) and I kept getting BSOD. (Win7 64, working with new power supply, ATI HD4850, WD 1TB hard drive - nothing too fancy). I thought the RAM was bad as I tried each of the 2GB sticks separately. I then bought new RAM, still Kingston but 2x4GB sticks and not value RAM.My problems still persisted. The RAM was clocked for 1600. The motherboard is supposed to be able to work with it but it wouldn't change the settings properly (there is a button that is supposed to do this automatically). So I changed the RAM settings to go slower, changed the latency, and a couple of other changes I wasn't even sure of, until it appears that after almost 24 hours, I have a stable system. I have not run any severe stress tests, but running dual clients in Eve, plus running DeusEx at max settings, which caused crashes before, have caused no issues. The motherboard is generally easy to work with, but unless you know RAM settings and overclocking, you won't be able to get this motherboard to work if you run into similar issues I did.If it doesn't intimidate you, this motherboard will work for you.
