Comment:
Lots of bells and whistles. When they work, they seem to function fine. Bought two of these at the very same time. 1 was very good, 1 was bad. The difficulty was a common one observed in the reviews. No boot on an HDMI, but works fine otherwise. I am shocked to have to say that ASUS is definitely not a trustworthy vendor, specifically if you get a lemon. Even though their warranty says they will send you a replacement part, they tried to send me a refurb in location of a brand new portion that was out of the box defective, but outside of the 30 day Newegg coverage. This is an incredibly shady practice and one that no reputable vendor would even try to get away with. Attempt to tell a customer that their brand new program has a refurbished motherboard in it. Strongly suggest that honorable small business people DON”T Get ASUS. Customer rep name was Robert Pinsley but he wouldn't even let me speak to his boss Maurice. Not very good at all. Until they make me entire, its the last ASUS I'll acquire. |

Cons:The Mail in rebate of sucked as the only option for form of payment was an american express gift card which by my experience costs $5 to use.. so its more like a 15$ MIR. To top that off try to find a place in Canada that accepts American express.. sears does but I'm unclear as to whether or not THIS american express will work there or not.. according to sears only AMEX cards bought from the Canadian AMEX company will work.. I think this one is actually from the States. Anyway a rebate is a rebate I guess. Front audio plugins for board are probably less than an inch away from the PSU fan on the bottom (may not be the best choice for large cases/bottom mounted PSUs. However with a little bitch of tucking of the wires and some careful placement it was ok)Case has some nice USB3 plugins which i CANNOT find a plug for on this board.. i could be blind but i've been quite thorough. On the upside as mentioned in pros, it does have rear usb3 if i really need to have that speed
Pros:Really good board for the $$$ spent.I game with it and so far its kept a decent temp and hasnt had any sort of issues.Onboard GPU if you're not a gamer and dont want to buy another part.MEMOK! button is a nice featureSetup easy easy easyQuickflash for BIOSREAR USB 3 plugs Comment:
Overall i think its a pretty good board, hell, it even looks pretty nice with the piping and shiny parts lol. I do alot of gaming with this computer and so far it hasnt had a single hitch. I run it with a Phenom II x6.All in all a great motherboard, definitely worth the money.I probably would have bought it even if it didnt have the rebate. |

Pretty considerably almost everything in this board will put a smile on your face. ASUS is pretty progressive with their firmware/BIOS handling. A stable board; I've heard tale it's been overclocked to 7Ghz. USB3 causes issues with ACPI. Turn off USB3 support in BIOS to remedy. Some JMICRON components, may want to contemplate purchasing a controller if employing RAID. Keep up with the firmware upgrades! Properly worth its cost. |

This board was quite uncomplicated to install, has a ton of capabilities and possibilities. I really like the on-board video card so at least I can now save up and get a mid-high end video card. Not a big con, but the instructions for the front console chords could have been written far better. Though I haven't utilised the turbo choice I have seen where it actually slowed down the ram whilst trying to speed up the processor, for me not a major deal am running proc and mem at stock speeds. I did notice that placement of PCI slots could have been greater and placement of other connectors could have been better, but I am making use of a Full tower case. These are truly my only cons otherwise I really like the board and would suggest the board to anybody creating a Phenom II machine. I have only had every thing setup for one day but got Windows 7 and drivers for video card installed in about 20 minutes and every thing has run flawlessly. On board graphics and audio! Easy to setup except..... The issue I had was I only had a VGA cable. The onboard video would not work with the D-Sub port. I thought I had a bad board. I borrowed a DVI cable from work and Wal-la! I could not discover anything in the setup guide about connecting the video. The reason for the 4 stars Other than the D-sub port not working with normal VGA I feel it is a excellent board. 8 gigs Mushkin Enhanced Silverline DDR3. Comment:
Solid construction, good BIOS and uncomplicated to OC. Quick, excellent video. Has been quite stable. Lots of capacity for future growth with SATA III and X6 support. Frankly I can't feel of an actual con. Not PCIe 2.1. Asus makes it a bit of a challenge to match memory to their board. The list of approved memory is a bit out of date, numerous of the suggested memory modules are no longer in production. And this is a new board! The Hybrid Crossfire is a bit of a lark. There is nearly no actual documentation out there from AMD or Asus on compatibility. It appears that you can only use a 4350, 4550 or a 5450 GPU and even the 5450 will give you a marginal increase in performance. If you want performance video buy the M4A89TD and get separate video cards. |

Cons:- None
Pros:- Works great with no issues- Phenom II 955 x4 OC to 3.7ghz with undervolting- Can potentially support Bulldozer Comment:
Bought this with 955 to replace an old Intel Pentium E5200 system.Everything is setup easily. After OC the CPU to 3.7ghz and NB to 2600mhz, the system is still stable even with slight undervoltage. CM Hyper 212+ and CPU never goes over 50 C under full load. |

ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:Some bloatware included on CD, but mostly good stuff.
Pros:Works great (Win7 and Ubuntu 11.04). 890GX, 1080p HDMI output, plays some games. Comment:
I managed to play some games without a proper video card (I played Portal 2, Frets on fire and others). Installation was easy, and ACPI Suspend etc worked OK-ish out of the box, for the most part in both Win7 and Ubuntu 11.04. The free ati drivers work OK, and compiz works OK. There's nothing too crazy about this, but its a solid deal, and by ASUS. You can Overclock with easy too! |

i've had the usb2 version of this board for a few months, and a new system i've setup has the usb3. really straightforward to setup. the builtin graphics is definately the ideal onboard video i've ever observed, and i'm very happy with the IO performance. both boards i've noticed have the com header so far the PCI slots that a standard serial panel cable does not reach. two of the SATA ports are directed away from the back panel, which will make them hard to reach in some instances. |

None for me.
Pros: Lots of features. Comment:
I bought this to upgrade an older motherboard and I am completely satisfied. This board has lots of built-in features (not sure if I will use them all) and some cool functions such as the core unlocking feature. I paired this with some Mushkin Silverline DDR3 and my system flies. Seriously unless one is an extreme overclocker, this board should suffice nicely and appears future proof for a little while. recommended! |

Cons:
None I can see considering its more budget minded.
Pros: Easy to set up, lots of options, great color scheme. Comment:
I bought this to replace a failing board I had bought second hand. Its great! I like the PCIE slot spacing so my dual 5850s run nice and cool. Dual 8X is plenty fine. Only thing that had me confused at first was which card was the primary. I'm so used to the top slot being that. In this board, its the second slot, lol. No problem. After someone told me this, no issues whatsoever. I'm running a 1055T 6core at 3.65Ghz easilyyy. With 4 sticks of Gskill 1600Mhz ram running at about 1738Mhz stock voltage, stock timings for a total of 8Gb ram. Very pleased with this board and set up. |

ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:
No IOMMU support (useful for virtualization).Only 2 SATA6 cables includedNo eSATA cable
Pros: Stable, easy build. 3 fan headers. SATA6 and USB3 support.Case connector block makes for easy buildOut of the box works with Ubuntu 10.04/10.10Rear eSATA port Comment:
No IOMMU support, grab the 890FX board if you need one for better virtualization.Easy build, not sure why there is a plastic cover over 4 pins of the 8-pin ATX power connector. Weird...Case connector pin block makes it easy to plug in those troublesome case connectors.Easily fits large heat sinks, such as the Noctua U12P or D14.Next time, might look into the Gigabyte board if only for their 3xPower USB ports. |

Cons:
Not as much feature packed as previous Asus products
Pros: strong built, easy-to-use, great features Comment:
I always recommend Asus motherboards as they work flawlessly for heavy-end users like me. I used this board with a 1100t CPU, 8GB mushkin silverline RAM, and a Radeon HD5770. It booted up perfectly. I hoped for the price it was as feature rich as some of the intel asus boards in the same price range. Otherwise, great product. |
running with a x4 965 since 8 months and got very happy with it. everything is running good and my CPU is OC at 3.8 stable.
