ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:
Lack of Fan Headers
Pros: Lots of USB Ports, USB 3.0, Nice Layout of Expansion Slots, Q Connector. Comment:
I have used Asus boards exclusively now for a while with my systems and have yet to have a problem yet. Installed with a 6 Core AM3 1055T, and 8 Gigs of Corsair memory from the Qualified Vendor List and booted up without a hitch. My only complaint is the lack of fan headers, however if you need more than three you are most likely buying a fan controller or a more expensive board with more headers anyways. |

I have almost always used ASUS products, the quality is great and the bang for the buck factor with this board is excellent. Got this with 8GB of corsair vengeance ram, a PhenomII x4 965, and an XFX6870. Great system and gives me lots of room to upgrade in the future. |

bought this with a 1090t and 16gb of g.skill ram for a hyper-v server. OC'd the 1090t to 3.8ghz with 1.32v, totally stable. Probably one of the best mobo's I've had as far as ease of setup/initial configuration. |

ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:
Ram slots close to CPU
Pros: PerformancePassive coolingTemperatureFeatures Comment:
Assembled this with a 1090T, 8GB ram and a 5850.Very pleased overall. Everything works well, the sound quality is good from the onboard (using Sennheiser HD555) and the rear inputs are well arrayed so you're not bumping everything together all the time.My major complaint is that the CPU socket is slightly too close to the ram sockets. I installed a Cooler Master Hyper 212+ to push air vertically, and this caused the cooler to slightly overlap the first socket. I managed to squeeze the ram stick in on an angle, and everything is working, but that's far from ideal. If I installed the heatsink to push out the back of the case instead of upwards, I don't think there would be any conflict.Overall a worthwhile purchase, and I have been very satisfied with ASUS's reliability in the past. My last ASUS motherboard had an onboard fan to cool the chip which broke down, but the motherboard has ran without the extra cooling and without problems for over a year since.I have this motherboard in a HAF X with only the stock fans, and the temperature gets to about 27C when the system is under load. Very happy. |

ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:
None really. I guess there a better boards out there for more money. This board doesn't have too many extra cool features you find on the higher end boards. It also may not overclock as high as other boards.
Pros: Beautiful design. Asus has recently been doing a wonderful job on their design. Onboard video for back-up. And all the standard features of an 890GX/FX Board...the sata III, and usb 3.0 Comment:
Beautiful mobo. Performs well (as expected). Mobo does not have the extra cool features like the higher end boards but they are costly. This board is quality and beautiful. For extreme overclocking you may want to look else where. I run at 3.8 GHZ 1055t 6x core stable. |

I got this board for my brothers system paired with a PII X6 1055T and it works well. This may not be the cheapest AM3 board, but it packs some good features like usb 3 and sata 6. So far it has worked flawlessly. I have not tried to overclock as this was not a system for me. |

only one 16X video slot (8x-8x) in duel card mode

So far I have install 8gigs of different ram Gskill-Kingston and also installed a Kingston SSD 64 drive. I reused a Nvidia8600 GTS from My old setup, I am waiting for Fall to buy a 460. The 1055T install in this board Makes it feel Like a hotrod running a BigBlock, it multitask without breaking a sweating at anything. I Have even got'n Fluffy Kitty OS running on this board LOL with AHCI turned off. |

ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:
Unstable, blue screens, lock up, no video on cold boot.
Pros: Are you kidding me ? None !!!!!!!! Comment:
If I could rate this piece of junk zero stars I would. I have tried 4 different sets of ram in this board. Three of them were gskill, and now mushkin. After about 6 weeks of fighting with this board I placed an order for the Gigabyte 890fxa-ud5 board yesterday. This is a warning to everyone. Do not buy the Asus M4A89GTD Pro or Pro/USB3 motherboard. They have MAJOR ISSUES. The board wont post on cold boot. It has constant issues with no video through HDMI. It is not compatible with 2/3 of the DDR 3 ram on the market. It freezes, it blue screens, and is just unstable as hell. Take a look at the asus forum. Literally 3/4 of the owners of this motherboard have the same problems I have and more. AVOID THIS BOARD AT ALL COSTS. |

ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:
- Wish there would had been more fan headers on the board but most boards are like this and have very few so not a big weakness.- Biggest weakness is that every time it POST, the part of (Scanning USB Controller) always take 8-10sec no matter what and even with latest bios. Annoying but not a deal breaker.- The 2 Sata ports on the side seems to be bugged if I plug hard drives there. I haven't had issue booting on my OCZ Agility 2 (SSD) when I plugged it elsewhere but I had no issue with my dvd burner on the side so.. weird.
Pros: - Looks very sexy- Good overall design thought I would have removed the bottom PCI slot to add a PCI-E on top.- Very good NB/VRM cooling.- Price is decent enough once price-matched (142$)- Very good and easy overclocking (see below)- Supports crossfire.- Easiest bios flashing utlity (EzFlash 2) that I ever used!- Onboard HD4290 in case ur stuck without videocards.- USB3 + Sata-3 Comment:
Glad I took this board over the Asus 880GX since it have much better VRM cooling for barrely 15$ more. This board is so easy to overclock. I use it with a X6 1055T and CM 212+ heatsink. By raising the FSB to 275x14=3.80Ghz you can do it in 5 seconds and be 100% stable by keeping all voltage to auto. It will set the cpu to 1.416v but then if you want to go higher you need to adjust it manualy. Still very impressive. I just sold my HD4870 for a crossfire of HD5770 that I'll receive in 2-3 days. It will be my first time trying cross so hopefuly it will work fine on this board. By the way the onboard card is still too cheap to play QuakeLive on maximum quality (-_-) I get like 30fps. |
