ASUS M5A78L-M LX Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:No Q-Connect

Pros:Unlocked my extra core
Comment:
A few years ago Asus offered "Q-Connect" - a method to make front panel connectors less of a pain to connect. That feature seems to have dried up unfortunatly, as it's absent here and I believe also absent in many of their other boards. That said, the motherboard works great, I never tested the onboard video but I haven't had issue. It also detected the fourth core in my Athlon II X3 3.2ghz and unlocked it without issue

ASUS M5A78L-M LX Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:Ugliest boot up screen I've ever seen

Pros:InexpensiveAM3+Core unlocker
Comment:
Great board for a budget PC. Good placement of the sata ports which doesn't block a bigger graphics card compared to other matx boards. Runs great with a cheap Athlon like the x3 450 and 4gb of cheap ram. Haven't had any issues so far. Comes with nice features like core unlocker and turbo key for easy 1 button overclocking. Also AM3+ so will support some of the newer cpus.

ASUS M5A78L-M LX Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:Could use just one more PCI slot

Pros:InexpensiveSmall
Comment:
Seems like a great little board for the money -- paired it with an Athlon II X2 chip for a very inexpensive basic gaming machine. I would have loved to have one more PCI slot on this board, as after a big videocard is installed, the remaining slots are unusable.

ASUS M5A78L-M LX Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:one pcie slot, 2 RAM slots make it not very upgradable

Pros:Cheap cost, solid motherbaord
Comment:
Bought this motherboard as a part of a 300$ budget pc. Works very well, using a phenom II x4 840, kingston value ram and a cheap radeon 5670. Definitely recommend this motherboard for anyone planning to build a cheap computer!!

Pros:Good Old motherboard. but with some good feature. Ready for windows 7.

I purchased this motherboard for a computer on a budget. For the price, it's really great. Works great I recommend it for those who want a computer functional and practical. Maybe not the best option if you are looking to build a computer for games.

ASUS M5A78L-M LX Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:No DVI, Firewire, HDMI or parallel ATA support

Pros:Inexpensive, supports old peripherals such as parallel port printers and devices using COM ports, mice and pointing devices with PS/2 connectors
Comment:
An interesting old/new board, designed for a certain market niche. The back panel connector set looks like it comes from an 8 year old motherboard - only VGA output for integrated graphics, but with a parallel printer port and a COM port, and a PS/2 mouse port. A godsend for those trying to continue to use old and trusted peripherals. While back panel connectors are old style, motherboard is latest technology only - no floppy or parallel ATA support. Only one PCI slot for wireless or audio card. Can easily add an inexpensive video card to get DVI and HDMI, for a total price similar to boards which incorporate these directly.

ASUS M5A78L-M LX Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:Didn't notice that did not have USB 3.0. More my oversight than any product failing. Otherwise no negatives.

Pros:Efficient. No problems installing Fedora 14.
Comment:
Great little motherboard if you're looking for an efficient and cheap motherboard. I built an Amahi server (on top of Fedora 14) with it along with an AMD Athlon II X4 640, 4GB Kingston ValueRAM, and a Seasonic SS-400ET 400W power supply and am very pleased with the result. Runs cool and efficient and has more than enough horsepower - didn't even need a case fan.
