Cons:
none
Pros: 1080pHDMISomething different.Super slim! Its as slim as an LED TV but without the high cost.External power brick very small, smaller than my acer aspire one.21.5" but can't tell the difference from the downgrade from my 22" HP that crapped out. |

ASUS MS226H Glossy Black / White 21.5" 2ms(GTG) Widescreen LCD Monitor
Cons:
Touch controls are WAY too sensitiveBuilt-in presets (Movie, Game, etc) are terribleMost OSD controls, such as saturation, sharpness and dynamic contrast are locked unless you are in one of the horrid "Splendid" modesSelecting sRGB colour profile locks you out of every image control, even the basic ones like brightness and contrast.Trace-Free technology creates weird movement artifacts when bumped up to 100%
Pros: Good response time, almost no ghostingDecent black levelsGreat designDim power button lightComes with a DVI to HDMI cable and a VGA cableThe monitor is stableHas a Kensington lock slot on the back Comment:
This offering from Asus is one of the very best monitors you can get under 200$. But be warned, it's not without its shortcomings.Let's start with the specs, shall we? Off the bat, let me say that those specifications are rock solid. Full HD resolution, 2ms response time, 50000:1 contrast ratio, HDMI input: all that for under 200$. It all sounds too good to be true, right? Well, almost. Those specs mostly hold up in the real world. The panel is of the TN type, with acceptable viewing angles. Response time is top notch for a non-120Hz monitor. Ghosting is almost inexistent. Black levels are decent and on-par with monitors in this price range. Now, on to the bad stuff. Sadly, it's mostly about the controls and adjustments. The touch controls are so sensitive that they become almost unusable. The picture adjustments in the OSD are very locked down. Basically, Asus is forcing you to use one of their Splendid presets if you want to use every possible adjustment. If you choose the standard preset, you are locked out of the saturation, sharpness and ASCR (dynamic contrast) options. If you dare choose the sRGB colour profile, you are locked out of everything. Even the very standard brightness and contrast controls become greyed out.You know what this means, photographs and hardcore Photoshop users. You can skip this one. But for the general multimedia, Blu-Ray, Youtube and video game crowd, this will be a pleaser. Great (although artificially boosted) colour, even without LED backlighting. Great performance in movies and games. Mostly even CCFL backlight with no noticeable bleeding. For the price, you really can't beat the value that this monitor offers. But I'm warning you: if you need accurate colours and the ability to calibrate the monitor to your liking, stay away. In fact, why are you even looking at this? You should be shopping for a pro-grade IPS monitor instead! To everyone else, don't hesitate and add this one to your cart now. |

Great monitor
Comment:
Impressed with this monitor, The stand is scary at first but, overall it's sturdy. As stated in another review, the angle is a bit far back for my taste. I used his advice and a DVD case makes it perfect! Response time, Sharpness, Color & Contrast is amazing! I Will be buying a second one soon. |

Good Monitor for the Price
Comment:
The touch controls are nice, but the interface isn't the greatest. The stand does not allow the monitor to tilt forward. The monitor is always angled backwards. It has a great display, looks sharp, for the price its very reasonable, but a stand is better than the ring set up in my opinion. |

for the price that i paid, this is a truely amazing monitor. I bought a samsung a year ago, 22inch, 2ms, 8000:1 for almost three hundred bux. This monitor, specs are far superior with the 1080p capibility, it is worth every buck. It looks cool, thin, and so far i have no problem with the ring stand. |

DVI to HDMI does not wake up Monitor
Comment:
Monitor works great. But, if you use the DMI to HDMI cable provided then you can not wake up the monitor if you turn it off. You must leave the monitor on. The only way to turn the monitor off and then back on is to reboot the PC. Customer support has no solution for this. |

Ive had it for a month now and I have had no problems sense day one. Res is great, almost too good. Matches all the specs the site promotes, so far. I went from a 15' to this bad boy, now I dont know what to do with my self. The only thing I was disappointed with was my video card cant support the max resolution on most newer games. As far as the price I had been window shoping for and new monitor for about a year and this is by far the best deal I have ever found, on any site and any other store in my area. |

Does not live up to it's on paper specs
Comment:
I bought two of these wanting a nice monitor pair for media production. From the specs it looked like the best bang for the buck. I really wanted great image quality for a good price. The specs must be exaggerated. Pros: The price isn't bad for the size and the HD capabilities. The 2ms response time is has ensured there is no ghosting or tracing. Cons: Text looks bad on here, the edges of letters bleed with what looks like a prism around them. There is no detail in shadows. Contrast ratio must have been exaggerated, because when this screen gets dark it turns to mud. Touch panel menu buttons are cumbersome. Screen is not evenly lit. Edges bleed light really bad. The interesting ring stand on this monitor makes it lean too far back even all the way foreword. I have been propping it up on DVD cases. This also makes me wish it was wall mount compatible. Conclusion: Pass if you are picky about image quality and color. Otherwise it's just OK. |

Better than expected
Comment:
Just recieved after my Viewsonic died a death. Looks and works just as good as Viewsonic so far ( only used for 2 weeks so far). Stylish and user friendly, stand took a little getting used too but works great and looks great. Sits neatly on the desk and not as cumbersome as you may have thought. Overall very excellent but not a 5 out 5 rating just yet. |

Cool monitor
Comment:
This thing is great, Looks great and works the same. And as far as the stand goes pretty neat idea if you ask me. I can adjust it with just the tip of my finger, not that you really need to but a cool idea. Very slim and sleek. Oh yeah and a great value too. |

Great Monitor
Comment:
I have this monitor for two months and it is great. I haven't had any problems but I couldn't rate anything as Perfect 5, for that I gave the best rating possible. It has great resolution and amazing brightness. It is totally flicker free (thus the 2ms response). I don't undertand why people complain about the stand. It is stable enough. I know it does not give you much angle movement, but it is not so bad. I wanted it to stay a bit straighter, so I put a CD holder under the ring and it is fine. |

Nice monitor... strange stand
Comment:
I apparently didn't review the pics enough and was focusing purely on specs.. On paper, this is a sweet monitor and the live appearance proved it. The ring stand is very modern and cool, but if the earthquake hits in the wrong direction, it WILL fall over. I think I'll get me some velcro hold downs for the ring to the table. and it will be fine. GREAT MONITOR-surprised by the stand. It adjusts fine |

This is a great monitor. The colors needs to be adjusted as the settings weren't as good as the Sony presets. (I didn't have to adjust any settings at all with the $ony). The overall look, feel and performance is great. The only problem I have is the plastic ring used as a |

WOW it's amazing!
Comment:
I was skeptical whether to get this monitor, because AFAIK, it was just released recently, and not many reviews had been written on it. I am glad I took the leap. This monitor is so vibrant and bright, and sleek. The ring is NOT a problem whatsoever, unless you are placing it on a flimsy desk or a pillow. I have it on a wooden desk, and it sits more firmly than my 19 inch LCD. It's very nice, the HDMI to DVI adapter was a plus, and definitely nice to have. Touch buttons (minus the power button) are a little too sensitive, you don't even have to press them to get them to activate, but other than that, this unit works flawlessly. Power button |

Awesome monitor!!
Comment:
I Purchased this monitor to replace the 19 inch LCD monitor I had. At 22 inches, 1080p, 2ms response, and a very sleek appearance I have to say this monitor is awesome! Some may complain about the stand, but I have not experienced any problem. Besides if you just do your homework, and research what you buy there would be no suprises! As always you guys rock! |

I LOVE this monitor. I shopped around online for 3 days finding the one I wanted with the resolution I wanted, and also had to shop according to limited space in a spot on my computer desk. This thing arrived and worked first time no problems. Has awesome touch sensor buttons. Excellent picture, no dead pixels. The so called flimsy stand as one reviewer stated is not a problem at all. I have a big webcam up top of it, and my cats are always behind the screen and nothing has ever tipped over. We even had a 6.5M earthquake the other day and the monitor didn't move one inch!! |

Flimsy stand
Comment:
The stand is very flimsy , I could not believe the stand that comes with this monitor its just a plastic ring , I'm speechless lol . How can an item that cost so much have a stand like this , they might as well not even include the stand and u can lean it up against the wall or a stack of books or something . I don't think the pictutes of this stand were on the website when I bought it , or maybe I was half asleep from working overtime to pay for this monitor when I ordered it . I'm sending it back , I'll get another different one with a real stand . I think if I put this on my desk and move the keyboard and it bumped against the monitor it would fall over and break . |
I want to try to build a custom stand for it somehow. Maybe a wall mount. The touch controls. They are completely unusable. Maybe its just the one that I received, but you touch the button to change brightness and you have about 1 second to change it. The menus just disappear.
