ASUS Maximus VI Formula ATX LGA1150 Z87 DDR3 CrossFireX SLI 3PCI-E16 SATA3 DP USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:Only 1 onboard USB 2 header. I plugged my CPU fan there and that leaves with no spares, would like to have one for front header as well. Drivers are tricky to get them working. ASUS tech support really sucks because if you'll have any issues first thing they tell is that board is defective and needs to be RMA :)
Pros:Sturdy solid design, looks great in the case, built in AC wi-fi, mPCI combo, lots of fan headers all over the board, nice BIOS, good on-board audio (7.1) with working headphone amp (up to 600 oHm) Comment:
This is a nice board with a lot of potential. If you need motherboard that does it all I highly suggest this one. It has 802.11 ac wireless and if it works it works wonders. I have 5 full bars all the time compare to D-Link N wireless card that I had before the signal strength was just not as good. I had some issues with drivers though. Drivers provided on CD didn't work. Downloaded latest Broadcomm drivers and was all set.Pretty good on-board audio. This is probably best on-board audio solution out there, I'm not kidding. Its so good that on $50 headphones you will not hear any imperfections or background noise. On $300 true hi-fi headset you will though. Headphone amp really works and it's the same amp as on STX or ZXR which are both $200 discrete sound cards.Given initial issue with drivers and horrible ASUS support I give this product 4 star rating. |

ASUS Maximus VI Formula ATX LGA1150 Z87 DDR3 CrossFireX SLI 3PCI-E16 SATA3 DP USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:nothing
Pros:looksperformancequality Comment:
this is another kick a%^ motherboard from ASUSi was able to run my delidded 4770k at 5.3 ghz , i had the hero before , it could only do 5 ghz . not sure if it was because asus just released a new bios (1102) or the fact that the vrms/mossets are water cooled , i wasn't expecting too much gaming performance compared to my x58 / 920 m 4.7 , but i was wrongway worth the upgrade |

ASUS Maximus VI Formula ATX LGA1150 Z87 DDR3 CrossFireX SLI 3PCI-E16 SATA3 DP USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:only one on-board USB 2 connector.
Pros:Best looking board on market, high quality components, great on-board audio, wireless ac network card, and so much more. Comment:
This has been my dream board since I first saw it and the more I read about it the more I fell in love with it. Now that I own it I would highly recommend it for anyone considering water cooling using the latest socket 1150 cpu. even if you're going the air cooling route it is one sweet board in features and design. |

ASUS Maximus VI Formula ATX LGA1150 Z87 DDR3 CrossFireX SLI 3PCI-E16 SATA3 DP USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:aside from price, nothing i priced matched to $299
Pros:-maximus vi formula features (scroll up)-added software Comment:
this motherboard is balls to the walls! Use the included cd to download drivers! it comes bundled with additional software and also if wifi is not working and you are not connected to the internet via Ethernet, drivers will make fix it. After that get latest firmware online.*will update if any problems come up This review was modfied by poster @ 09-27-13 03:27 AM |
I was looking at getting a z87 pro board and a couple PCIE's for wireless AC and sound card. Once you tack on the cost of these extras the M6F is a decent value. If you're on the fence, just pull the trigger. This is a great board.
