ASUS Maximus VI Hero ATX LGA1150 Z87 DDR3 SATA3 USB3.0 DVI HDMI Motherboard
Cons:Only HDMI to use onboard graphics
Pros:High quality components, great looks, tons of features Comment:
bought this as part of a bundle with the 4670k, like many others here. Great board! Rich features, excellent aesthetics, and high-quality parts. The only complaint I have is that I needed an HDMI to DVI cable in order to use the integrated gpu on the 4670k, since I did have enough money to get a dedicated graphics card for a while. Most people would not find that to be a problem as this is a gaming grade board. Recommended buy. |

ASUS Maximus VI Hero ATX LGA1150 Z87 DDR3 SATA3 USB3.0 DVI HDMI Motherboard
Cons:More fan headers would be nice, 5 isn't a lot
Pros:Its in the ROG familyBIOS is really greatRed LED looks really sharpDebug LEDROG SupremeFX Lots of USB 3.0 ports Comment:
Bought this as a bundle with an I5 4670K for $419, cant beat that! The board is really easy to work with. The ROG BIOS is really easy to navigate and makes everything painless. EZ mode is very convenient for the less experienced. The red LED stands out very well, it glows along the on-board audio shielding and looks awesome. Room for SLI and Debug LED's are always helpful also the Start and Reset buttons glow. |

ASUS Maximus VI Hero ATX LGA1150 Z87 DDR3 SATA3 USB3.0 DVI HDMI Motherboard
Cons:Too much awesome!
Pros:Awesome! I like uefi bios! component seem to be strong! Comment:
I Just dont really like the place of the CPU power cable emplacement, I think it's common ... but with a Corsair H100i it's not really good for cable. I was thinking to double the fan of the H100i but I will put the radiator outside the cassing (TT Chaser A71 LCS) to make place for CPU cable and stay with 2 fan. not a cons, but limitation. |

ASUS Maximus VI Hero ATX LGA1150 Z87 DDR3 SATA3 USB3.0 DVI HDMI Motherboard
Cons:-had to return the first one I received-No Wi-fi
Pros:-Good looking-affordable-very complete Bios with alot of features Comment:
Really good motherboard, you can't go wrong with Asus. I had to RMA the fist one I received, the issue was minor, a broken USB 2.0 port but still it was supposed to be brand new so I wanted it in perfect conditions.NCIX customer service were really great, took me a week and a half to receive another one that was in perfect condition this time. The installation is easy, the Bios has alot of features and it is easy to navigate. You can tell it's high quality components just from looking at the board. |

Pros:1. good looking motherboard2. HD audio3. good deal4. reliability Comment:
This is a great looking motherboard containing a lot of features. You don't have to pay the price of the Formula in order to have the ROG experience and quality. Besides, I bought it in a bundle deals together with Intel i5-4670K for just $399.99. No complaint at all with price. |

ASUS Maximus VI Hero ATX LGA1150 Z87 DDR3 SATA3 USB3.0 DVI HDMI Motherboard
Cons:None
Pros:Solid Design, Color Scheme, Reliability Comment:
Being the least expensive of the new ROG family ATX boards, the hero is definitely a great mobo for those who are looking to overclock. That is the key difference between z-series board and the h and b series boards, thus why the price premium on them. So if you are looking for a great entry level overclocking mobo, look no further!! |

ASUS Maximus VI Hero ATX LGA1150 Z87 DDR3 SATA3 USB3.0 DVI HDMI Motherboard
Cons:Sonic Radar is useless and intrusive in my opinion
Pros:Magnificient layout and design, price for this range of MOBO, space between the 2 PCI-E16 slot Comment:
I have been a EVGA fan for all my builds in the last couple of years (never had any problems) but when I decided to upgrade to Haswell my decision fell on this MB after building a system for a friend with it, and I do not regret my decision. This board (especially for the price) cannot be beat, it has all the features most gamers need. The layout is simply astounding and I love the fact that the 2 PCIE16 are not close together so with 2 graphics card the top one doesn't blow directly on the bottom one. I personnaly use a 680 with a 460 for physX. The BIOS is intuitive and the OC software is slick. I do not like the Sonic Radar however, It appeared in every game I tried with the first system I built and I had no idea what it was, but then I played with it a bit and found no use for IT.For sound I personally use a Asus Xonar so no comment on the SupremeFX. There is still lots of features to try but for now I am 100% satisfied and I highly recommend this board. |

ASUS Maximus VI Hero ATX LGA1150 Z87 DDR3 SATA3 USB3.0 DVI HDMI Motherboard
Cons:as for the cons please read the summary below,
Pros:Price is fair, included audio is outstanding, three expansion slot spacing when installing dual video cards is nice to see. Comment:
(1) when I upgraded the bios to 0711 from 0224 it creampied my raid 1 array I had over two ssd's. after post at the IRST screen: surprise no array! only options to create a new one and nothing to recover or rebuild the old one. Sad but I more or less sacrificed a ssd just so I would not have to reinstall... I did not try the ASmedia controller.(2) When installing windows with a USB optical drive it turns out you have to use a specific port or else the installation will bsod at random, no mention of this anywhere in the manual it took a few hours of crashing and mumbling "ill never buy ASUS" again to sort that little gem of a bug/whatever out.(3) Bundled software is not so great good chance you wont use the "sound radar" its useless, if they would allow us to only have it trigger on user defined sound files it would really shine but as it is now its deadweight. the QoS utility is a dungeon of buttons and menus.(4) Ram disc is outstanding I'm still waiting for mine to ship but I convinced a friend to come over with his 32g kit and had a few hours to play around with it. Any larger disc size will really impact boot times but games mirrored to the ram disc launch at insane speeds the only time you will see a loading screen is when the game client is waiting for a connection to the game servers everything else is as far as I can tell instant.(5) No need for fan controllers! the included four full pwm and independently controllable headers are well managed and well supported by the software utility. setting up a intelligent system that's responsive to actual internal temperatures is a peace of cake with this system. My conclusion:some things have been more then over looked and really got under my skin. the loss of the raid array and installation problems are unforgivable this should have never happened. outside of that this mobo hit the mark everywhere else and if not for the many terrible words I called it during the problems I had I would say its outstanding.so go for it and buy one just be warned it could take some effort to get/keep running. |
Would recommendWas easy to setupThe CPU Level Up was an easy way to test PSU and do some intro benchmarks and burn in testsCan adjust OC option from within Windows which is nice
