ASUS Maximus VII Hero ATX LGA1150 Z97 3PCI-E16 3PCI-E1 SATA3 USB3.0 CrossFireX/SLI HDMI Motherboard
Cons:I do have to say, though, getting this thing to even allow me to use my computer was a nightmare. Neither the LAN port or any of the USB ports work unless all of the chipset drivers are installed, but you can't do that unless you have access to a mouse and keyboard, and either a disc drive or internet browser.SO... I was fortunate to have the following handy in order to install the drivers I needed:i3-4350, Asus Z87-K, 8GB RAM (one of the two from my current PC), and a Thermaltake TR2 430W PSU. I took the SSD I was going to be using in my PC, and hooked it up to this janky, last-ditch-effort setup. After downloading/ installing all of the drivers, I was FINALLY able to get into Windows.

Pros:In a nutshell, I am very happy with this motherboard. It fits in so well with my red NZXT Phantom 530, and makes the thing look like a gosh-darn spaceship.Lots of SATA support for all the drives I will likely be adding, M.2 support for the future as well, a handful of fan headers (which I'm not using because of the Phantom's fan controller), and overall a very high quality board.
Comment:
tl;dr This is a great motherboard that supports some great features (that I have yet to use, but keep in mind, I've only had it running for about 15-20 minutes at the time of this review). I just wish that Asus had planned ahead for the possibility of people NOT realizing that their motherboard wouldn't run their devices in Windows without installing all their drivers. Because I think it's a little silly that in this era of super-fast technology, a motherboard can't run two USB 2 devices out-of-the-box.Took about 4.5 hours with all the rage and unprofessional temporary setups to get this to work, but it boots fast, and looks great.

Pros:Great looking colour scheme.LED lighting.

Nearly every computer I buy, I go with an Asus motherboard due to its known reliability over the years. I'm just a beginner overclocker so having some Asus software that makes overclocking easy really makes it safe without frying my PC.

Cons:Price & shipping

Pros:Looks cool, Love the red lights. Cool trouble code readout. It's ASUS, So far VERY stable board.
Comment:
I love this board. Had it for 5 months now, and it did NOT disappoint as far as quality & overall look goes. Fit my Tower perfectly, and was easy to hook up. The only down thing was that it was priced over my budget, but I figured If I'm buying a new system, I want one of the best boards. Tired of settling for middle of the road. Shipping took longer than I wanted. I had ALL my other peripherals a good week before the board came, but I received it and all was good. I highly recommend this board. I know I'm happy and will be for a long time.

Pros:Great looking boardUEFIand well, it's Asus so the whole thing rocks!
Comment:
This motherboard is awesome. I just got it today and installed it along with the new cpu I got (core i7 4790k) and everything went perfect. Everything worked with no problems. With all the red and black on this board it matched perfect with my colour scheme. With 4 fan 4 pin case fan headers and 2 4 pin cpu fan headers you will have plenty of spots to connect your fans. Of course, if you are using a fan controller that won't matter. the UEFI bios is very well organized with everything you need. Updating the bios is very easy, the onboard audio rocks, I can go on and on, but I will keep it short and just say that this is a GREAT motherboard. If you are installing the motherboard in a pc that already had windows 7 installed you will notice that your windows will not boot. I'm sure you know why that would happen, but there is a very easy fix here without needing to reinstall windows: http://www.dowdandassociates.com/blog/content/howto-repair-windows-7-install-after-replacing-motherboard/ This review was modfied by poster @ 12-14-14 02:00 PM

Comment:
I am running this with a 4790K processor in an Antec 300 series case. With the stock fan and heat sink compound at 4Ghz the processor is idle 27C full load 62C. This board on initial setup automatically was overclocking the chip to 4.6Ghz stable at about 75C. Can't wait to get my upgraded CPU cooler still shipping to see what kind of temps I can reach after that.I did have to do a bit of digging to fix a few devices not recognized properly in device manager with a windows 7 install (even the disk didn't have the right drivers) but it was a minor inconvenience.

Great looks! Wish it could come in blue but I guess red looks good too! Have an R9 290 and i7-4970k on this and works great. Watch out for the plastic on the MB heat sinks and logo. Removed them in case something might go wrong if under lots of heat. 10/10 would buy again and go it with price match for under 200$! This review was modfied by poster @ 12-02-14 07:18 PM

Cons:No sata express or thunderbolt card but a rig built mainly for gaming and streaming online simultaneously I can't complain

Pros:Great onboard audio, crystal clear sound reproduction onboard M.2 SSD port Intel gigabit LAN onboard 8 SATA 3 6GB/s ports
Comment:
This is a great looking motherboard, has a nice red LED trace running along the back of the motherboard and a pulsing ROG logo.Main reason I chose this board is because I had a color theme going with the last motherboard and CPU that occupied my corsair 800D and that I had replaced all of the internal fans with red LED fans.I'm hoping to see at least a 512GB M.2 SSD get released by the fall with beyond SATA 3 read speeds for instant load for OS and gaming.Paired this with a 4790K and 16GB of system ram with an 8GB ramdisk strictly for streaming it's a seamless combination.

Cons:First board was faulty. BSOD on OS installation.

Pros:Full of features for gamers. Great service on exchange.
Comment:
I bought this board along with Intel 4690K as part of a bundle. Saved enough to almost take care of the tax. Physical install went fine but got BSOD when trying to install the OS (after numerous attempts). NCIX and ASUS were excellent in there support and NCIX exchanged the board with no problem although it took me a week to get everything sorted out. I think there may have been a fault in the SATA controller or something. Anyway, the new board works great so far and am really pleased with performance and tweaking options this board offers. Gameplay is smooth as silk with two Gigabyte GTX 670's in SLI and 16 Gn'd of HyperX beast memory. The system is very quick even without an SSD. (My next upgrade).
