ASUS P7P55D Deluxe ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:first board shipped was DOA
Pros:loaded with features, impressive layout, easy to use Comment:
I purchased this motherboard as part of my first system build. This motherboard is very difficult for me to review. The first board shipped to me arrived DOA. This caused some grief in troubleshooting my system to find out what component was at fault. On the other hand even while troubleshooting I fell in love with this board. Even though the first one was defective I absolutely love this motherboard. It's loaded with features with plenty of room for expansion. If it wasn't for the first board I'd easily give this 5 stars. Even with that I still highly recommend it.System Build:Antec Nine Hundred Mid Tower Gamer Case 900 ATX 9 Drive Bay No PS Top USB2.0 1394 AudioWestern Digital WD1001FALS Caviar Black 1TB SATA2 7200RPM 4.2MS 32MB 3.5IN Dual Proc Hard DriveLG W2243T-PF 21.5IN 1920X1080 Black 1080P LCD 5ms 30000:1 DVI VGA Monitor ASUS Radeon 4870 Dk 750MHZ 1GB 3.6GHZ DDR5 PCI-E Dual DVI HDCP HDTV Out Video CardLG BH08-LS20 Black BLU-RAY Writer 8X BD-R 16X DVD-R SATA Lightscribe Internal DriveAltech Lansing VS2521 3 Piece Speaker Stereo SystemIntel Core i7 860 Quad Core Processor Lynnfield LGA1156 2.8GHZ Hyperthreading 8MB CacheASUS P7P55D Deluxe LGA1156 P55 DDR3 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 PCI SLI Crossfirex 9SATA GBLAN 1394 MotherboardCorsair XMS3 Dominator 4GB DDR3 2X2GB DDR3-1600 CL 8-8-8-24 Core i5 i7 Dual Channel Memory KitAntec Earthwatts 750W Modular Power Supply ATX12V V2.2 EPS12V Active PFC 80PLUS 120MM FannGear Flash Card Reader 3.5IN Internal USB Black CF/SM/SDHC/MMC/MS/XD 18IN Cable |

ASUS P7P55D Deluxe ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:CONS:Nothing, other than the underdeveloped system software.
Pros:PROS: huge overclockabilityeasy to use BIOSPower/Reset buttons right on the boardBIOS reset button on back panelremote to set favorite O/C profiles while running OS. Comment:
This is by far the best Motherboard I have ever used.Mobo: Asus P7P55D DELUXE CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 750 u 2.67GHz (OC 4.045GHz) RAM: Patriot Extreme Performance Viper 4GB 2X2GB PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-24 H/D: Patriot Warp V2 32GB SSD Cooler: Noctua NH-U12P SE2Heatpipe Cooler W/ 2XNH-P12 120MM Fans I purchase Asus exclusivly, and this board is top drawer.Originally, I purchased the G.SKILL F3-12800CL7D-4GBRH Ripjaws PC3-12800 RAM, but after setting up the machine (and unable to boot to BIOS) I found out that this RAM was not in the QVL (Qualified Vendors List)therefore changing to the Patriot. Also went from a OCZ GameXStream 850W ATX12V 24PIN SLI Ready, to an Antec Truepower Quattro 1000W Power Supply SLI Ready (for my dual XFX GTX275s).This machine is exactly what I was looking for my upgrade. At first (with the original BIOS) I could only get the machine to O/C to 3.6GHz. I updated the BIOS to version 0711 and it unlocked some features that were not available with the original. My first attempt put me a 3.7GHz, shortly later I got it up to over 4GHz on Air! I had to disable the C-State in BIOS in order to do this. With C-State on I hold 3.7GHz steady and have not attempted to increase it yet.At 4GHz+ my temps and wattages were a little high, (52 degrees Celcius, 109W) but I've run AMD CPUs at 64+ 24/7 for months.. so no big deal. There are still some tweaks I haven't played with yet.. however, what I have used so far is fantastic. |
I purchase this board and pretty happy.IM running it with a I7 860 and 4 gig of Gskill ram.Board is a little tricking to overclock and i get stable it run very great. I didn't use the remote controler for OC and i think i will not use in the future.5 Stars
