ASUS P7P55D-E Pro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:I had many, many problems with disk detectionASUS website reports several others who have disk detection problems in the P7P55D-xxx motherboard lineOnboard sound through VIA audio seems noisy (USB sound fine)
Pros:Nice overall layout, huge feature setLots of connectivity optionsEasy BIOS upgradesSpecial 6GB cables includedLots of CPU fan or waterblock clearance Comment:
Overall this seems like a wonderful motherboard, with more state of the art features than you could use. If it wasn't for the disk detection problems (sometimes it sees them, sometimes it doesn't, randomly, both SSD and old-style trusty seagates, even with the latest flashed bios), it would be almost a flawless product. It seems to me that the boot device priority menu will not show the 6gb sata disks if there are any disks in the 1-6 sata 3gb ports. Lots of nice ASUS utility programs included for flashing, monitoring, and tweaking the motherboard too. I would give it and excellent rating, but for the disk dectection problems. Until I (or they) can be resolved, it only gets a satisfactory from me. This review was modfied by poster @ 02-06-10 11:58 AM |

Great Motherboard, ended up getting free upgrade from the p7p55d pro without 6gb sata and usb 3.0. Due to this site being out of stock. Easy setup, great looking and very functional mobo. You rock guys! |
Realtek Ethernet not working. The LAN controler is not showing up in windows device manager. I'm not sure if this is a driver issue or not. New install of windows 7 64 bit. What a waste of time to find this fault. Buy a different MB and save yourself hours of wasted time.
