ASUS P8H61-M (REV 3.0) Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:
No IDE port. Only 4 sata connectors and 2 internal USB ports.
Pros: Great value. Spanky new bios screens! Comment:
Asus has gone to a new, pretty graphical bios which almost threw me off. It's gonna take some getting used to.. but I like it. Only 2 internal USB ports which made adding a card reader problematic (had to abandon two USB ports on the front). 4 Sata connectors also can run out quickly... and not legacy IDE. Great for a new build... not so good if you are replacing your motherboard. The P4 power connector is above the processor which, if you use a case with a power supply at the bottom, makes getting that connector a wee bit of a stretch. My Antec Basiq just barely made the reach. The RAM is a tad close to the processor fan... so don't get ram with a really fat heatsink on it.Nice PCI slot along with 1 PCI-E 16X and 2 PCI-E 1X.I used it with a new i3-2100 and started right up.Knowing what is does and doesn't have is essential.. and it's a nice, new, solid board. 5 stars. |
Drivers were a breeze. Runs great. No complaints at all.
