ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3 Motherboard Z68 LGA1155 ATX 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI HDMI DVI USB3.0 SATA3
Cons:None
Pros:Stable, UEFI BIOS, quality components Comment:
I just paired this with an i5 2500k. Needless to say, I am very impressed. The UEFI BIOS is absolutely packed with options. Having the ability to use a mouse in BIOS is such a great bonus as well. Being a computer tech, I highly recommend this board. It is incredibly stable, and is packed with features for this price point. |

ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3 Motherboard Z68 LGA1155 ATX 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI HDMI DVI USB3.0 SATA3
Cons:IDE mode. Double-boot. Haven't gotten Mobilink working yet.
Pros:Mature and easy-to-use BIOS, easy OC,onboard LEDs for troubleshooting, PCIe3, USB3, E-Z flash, full Sandy Bridge support, many somewhat-useful options and features. Comment:
UEFI BIOS is easily the best I've ever had the pleasure to use, and allowing use of a USB mouse in it is icing on the cake. Advanced mode offers almost all the options an builder/OCer could want; UI is clean and simple and easy to navigate. Currently using a 2500k l4.5Ghz, and have gone as high as 4.8, so I'd say this board OCs very well. The onboard LEDs are quite useful for identifying problems quickly and easily. I haven't had to use the MEMOK button yet, but I' glad it's there. This board defaults to AHCI mode so if your HDs are in IDE they will not boot until you change the setting. In fact, I'm of the opinion that this board simply does not play well with IDE mode, as I've noticed a slight drop in IDE HD performance since installing this board. That is easily fixed, however. This board double-boots, which slows down startup slightly, though you can offset that somewhat by elminating the POST or logo screen or reducing it to 1 sec. The BIOS defaulted the Corsair Vengeance 1600 DRAM to 1333. There are quite a few options (TPU/EPU switches, Intel Smart Response) and software (AI suite) that aren't particularly useful to the advanced user, but I imagine they would be to a beginner. These aren't really cons so much as peculiarities, which every MB has, and if you don't have the skill to deal with these minor adjustments (as many reviewers on other sites apparently don't) perhaps you should ask a more tech-savvy friend to help build your PC.I'm quite pleased with this board and with NCIX for its prices and service, and I'd easily recommend both. |

ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3 Motherboard Z68 LGA1155 ATX 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI HDMI DVI USB3.0 SATA3
Cons:Slow boot.
Pros:Great performance, quality build, tons if features. Comment:
Was hoping my current computer could hold out for Ivy Bridge but it died. So I bought this board in preparation for Ivy and the new PCI-E cards which I plan to crossfire. So far its what you would expect from an ASUS board. Nothing but quality and performance. The BIOS is great and offers lots of tools for overclocking. Has some great features like TPU and bluetooth. Only time will really tell if this board will live up to its promise of supporting PCI-E 3.0 and higher end Ivy bridge processors. |

ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3 Motherboard Z68 LGA1155 ATX 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI HDMI DVI USB3.0 SATA3
Cons:- Needs more SATA ports
Pros:- High Quality Parts- Good Board Layout- Built in Bluetooth- Lots of features Comment:
I usually buy Asus, but for my last motherboard I went with Gigabyte and that was a huge mistake, now I'm back with Asus and couldn't be happier. Great quality and great board. |
I have chosen this board because I liked the layout, features and I trust the brand. I could have gone for a newer chipset design, but this one offers all the same valuable features and was a better bargain. Operates reliably, does what I want it to do with no surprises and disappointments. Just a solid performance day after day. Easy to recommend.
