ASUS RT-AC56U Dual Band Wireless AC1200 Gigabit Router 802.11AC USB3.0
Cons:Features are good only if it worksStill junior in login ID authentication
Pros:Solid performanceMany good router featuresSupport DDNSMobile app access Comment:
I read some reviews before I bought this router. So far, it is working great. I tried some other brand routers, all of them I end up need to reboot once every 1-2 weeks. This one, running solid so far.A lot of good features comes with this router. Too many I cannot mention here. And that is whole idea why I bought this router. I don't care which internet carrier it is, I want to have full control of my own LAN.I always thought router with external antenna is better. But guess what, I can control the power of the WIFI. This one works a good as any other type.Beside all the good things, there are a few draw backs. Some functions are buggy. Like my external USB stick somehow not working. File sharing is a good feature but seems like too complicate and not always work. ASUS are not very good with that yet.Login access right also needs to be improved. If I want to use this router for file sharing with others, I must have different IDs with different access level. ASUS is missing that.Overall, I think this router worth 4.5 stars. It lost 0.5 star because of the buggy features and login. But I guess ASUS can improve those in the future with updates. So I would round up giving it a 5 stars. |

ASUS RT-AC56U Dual Band Wireless AC1200 Gigabit Router 802.11AC USB3.0
Cons:File Sharing
Pros:Fast, easy, great features Comment:
After installing the latest firmware this router is running great! I only bought this router because my last one died (it was a Asus lasted 4 years) I have a usb hdd plugged into router and the only way I could access the files were by making it password free which they seem to highly recommend against since they warn you three time that anyone on your network will be able to view your file. If I have a password set I can not log in.... wish there was a fix for this cause the files stream great off my usb 3.0 hdd on my neo x8 media center.I have a 60 mbps internet connection and this router takes full advantage of that. |

Cons:None as of yet
Pros:Fast reliable Comment:
Very fast reliable connections, nice software interface. This is one of the best for the money,USB 3.0 is nice, good range and wont drop connections. |
This is still a very capable AC router even though it's now getting older. It's a pity though the print server feature doesn't work with a Brother laser printer I have.
