Only after I purchased it, I learned it does not include a software for blu-ray playback. In the description, it talks about 3d support, 2d to 3d conversion and 'Magic Cinema' 1080p upscaling all indications of a software which can play blu-ray disks. So its promotion text is in a sense misleading. I haven't tried the burning/writing features yet so can't comment on that now.
