Bought for netbook. With this one I have gotten no problems reading or burning media.Also good that you can use one usb, but haven't tested performance. |

I bought this for a mini ITX build which I had a choice of a way overpriced, internal drive (had to be a super slim drive), or this, which was far less money. For what it is, it's perfect. I can only assume those with Macbook Air's would find these handy...but miniITX builds benefit from these as well if you don't want to spend extra. |

Pros:USB powered. Nice finish different from the other similar external dvd drives that have the straight glossy plastic. Comment:
Works with a single USB plug if your port provides enough power. |

Pretty good for an external, though I haven't owned many. Glossy exterior is sort of ridiculous and pointless. Would be nicer if it was heavier so applying pressure to secure the disc to the tray wouldn't tip it over every time. |

Bought this because it was cheap and provides CD/DVD access to systems without an optical drive like my Bitfenix Prodigy mini-ITX build. It's a little noisy but not too bad. The entire unit is shiny plastic so it'll be a fingerprint magnet. Other than that it works fine. Tray is manual like in notebooks. Included cable is very short, only a foot long. |

Exactly what I was looking for My wife's netbook.The USB (2 USB in and one mini USB to drive cable).Ihis drive works very well, it has a nice finish and is light and very portable.it appears well made and matches the ASUS netbook. |
Using for occasional times I need a cd drive.Not much to say about this drive. It works fine and keeps me from losing a sata port on my board. The usb cable could be longer, I'm using mine with a regular single end 6 ft cable and it works fine plugged into one of my USB 3.0 ports.It's a bit noisy when running, I tried playing a CD with it and could hear it through my open headphones.
