ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 ATX AM3+ 990FX/SB950 DDR3 1PCI-E16 1PCI-E1 1PCI SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:-may not read XMP properly

Pros:-rock solid-easy to overclock-stable VRMs
Comment:
Very solid pick for my overclocked FX-8350. Stable voltages, high bandwidths across the north bridge, I would buy it again for gaming/overclocking/high end user. My rig's built for gaming, no issues so far. The BIOS is very easy to go through, but mine had issues reading the XMP for my Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8 GB ram sticks (manual configuration works like a charm). Go for something cheaper if you're just a casual/office user.

ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 ATX AM3+ 990FX/SB950 DDR3 1PCI-E16 1PCI-E1 1PCI SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:- They should be more specific about what testing is done to the board before shipping to catch the junkers.

Pros:- stable- definite improvement over R1- looks great
Comment:
I wanted a stable long-serving motherboard and tried the first version of this board but the USB implementation was absolute crap. It failed to recognize devices, did not come out of sleep correctly and all sorts of other issues. They fixed the bugs in this R2 board and because I liked everything else about the first one, I bought another. (I still use first board in a less demanding application where it has done fine) This R2 has been exemplary every since and I am a hardcore user (short of overclocking) with all graphic card slots filled (six monitors), all SATA slots used, 32GB of RAM and an 8 core FX-8350. I run EM simulations for days on end and so far, so good.

Cons:Took me about 3 hours to get my 8350 working, but it was well worth the wait.

Pros:Good, slick and actually doesn't Bottle your parts.

ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 ATX AM3+ 990FX/SB950 DDR3 1PCI-E16 1PCI-E1 1PCI SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:None really.

Pros:Fast and stable.
Comment:
The last time i upgraded was back in the Socket 939 days and i must say componentry and manufacture on high end motherboards like this one has taken a few steps up since then. This is a nice board. i use it for server duty and it's been completely stable. Set and forget, what more can you ask for? i had to RMA one of the 2 i ordered because the onboard ethernet wasn't working right. Upon detailed testing of my LAN i must admit i found a couple of sub-par cables which affected the RMA'd sample of this motherboard quite a lot and the good one hardly any.NCIX exchanged the problematic motherboard for me and the replacement is perfect.

ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 ATX AM3+ 990FX/SB950 DDR3 1PCI-E16 1PCI-E1 1PCI SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:1 – You MUST buy a video card to use the motherboard – or have some other GPU solution – as there is no built-in video.2- Depending on your tower case, the connector for the drives (SATA 6Gp/s) may be difficult to get to as they do not face upward but sideways.

Pros:1-Nice layout of components – except for one (see cons)2-Durability3-AI Suite – simple and user-friendly4-All the other features

Great motherboard! I bought this as a bundle deal (motherboard and FX8150). The bundle was for $320—a really good price. This was part of my first build, so naturally I was cautious. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on a computer, but I wanted something that I could use for gaming, video-editing, Photoshop, render, even record some music. This motherboard comes equipped with pretty-well everything you would want, but you need to get a video card for it as there is no built-in video. That may be a problem depending on your budget—should definitely have a GPU solution. Nevertheless, the motherboard is versatile and it even has the capability for upgrading to Thunderbolt, so that’s really cool. The design is great! They did a great job on the “tough” look and feel.

ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 ATX AM3+ 990FX/SB950 DDR3 1PCI-E16 1PCI-E1 1PCI SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:If it goes dead, then I'll be back to add that.

Pros:Things went together really well with my build and up things flew.PM PM PM! This is the standard rev2 board and in my estimation it's worth the going price - but the Gen3 price.
Comment:
I looked at other MBs but decided on this one as being totally suitable for my needs at a decent price - which at this time is not NCIX's, theirs being for the Gen3 (PCIX 3.0) or some other fantasy. The PM went super and I paid the overall going price. When the box wasn't shrink wrapped, I got a bit wary, but had the extra insurance this time. I wanted a system with a lot of RAM in order to use virtual systems with Linux. The build just went super. 8350 plus 32 gigs of Crucial Ballistix. This being my build in a while, and put together in a HAFX tower that's been sitting in a box for almost two years, with a Corsair HX 850 (I have a lot of drives to add) - I was wondering how things would work.Everything simply booted with full 32 gigs of RAM showing and processor (8350) specs. I could load Linux live DVDs - but no luck with a hard drive. I was worried about secure boot, but no luck with resetting. So I put in a second HD using same main power cable but different connector and new SATA cable. It was immediately recognized. At this point I could get into options to boot alternative OS. So I did.I could not resist after so long fearing that secure boot would cause grief with my Linux (I have not used Windows at home since 2004). I put in my working AM2/3 HD using Mint13 and Mageia3. They loaded and flew! I had to redo sensors-detect to get GKrellm going properly, and reset Fire-starter (firewall) to use eth1 (new Ethernet hardware) but all just cruised. I'm typing on Mint13 now, SABnzb is downloading and constructing, ktorrent is chugging, GKrellm is reporting everything is normal.Because everything works so well today, I feel silly about being worried to upgrade. For sure I'll be later telling about heavy duty tasks.

ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 ATX AM3+ 990FX/SB950 DDR3 1PCI-E16 1PCI-E1 1PCI SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:Had to update  Bios to the newest due to black screen at post. Not a huge issue, but someone who is not tech savvy may become frustrated and return the product.

Pros:Looks great, tons of connectivity, excellent and easy to use UEFI bios. Great overclocker with robust power delivery.
Comment:
A great product from ASUS, excellent features at a reasonable price.Upgraded to the Sabertooth from a budget motherboard, it has been worth every cent. With this board, I have been able to overclock to a respectable 5.0ghz rock solid. A nice increase from my other board and without the massive Vdroop. If you are going to overclock the AMD Vishera-FX cpus, this is the board to get.

I got this motherboard to replace a board that had been fried during a power surge, so far I'm loving every minute of it. Better crossfire performance, great aesthetic, quality brand with asus. Very easy to work with, and great for overclocking. I would recommend this motherboard to anyone doing an AMD build.

Pros:TUF!, nice look, Free Utilities/ Software

First build I've done and I went with this Motherboard. Looks awesome, has a lot of great features and ports. came with SATA connectors and a CD that gives you a CPU-ID skin to match the board and a lot of other great features. I like the AI Suite II program helps a lot with maintaining temperatures/ fan speed. It also has manual overclocking or energy mode. all around great board.
