ASUS VG Series VG236HE Black 23" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor
Cons:Glossy screenThick bezelOnly 23"120Hz
Pros:Sharp pictureNice stand120Hz Comment:
This unit is one of the monitor models that we use for testing our game development tools (and playing LAN games). The HD resolution and small pixel pitch provide a really sharp high quality picture. The color quality is also good for a 2ms panel. The panel is one of the glossiest that I have seen, and the room reflections are very strong in it, which can be distracting when gaming especially on any image areas that are dark.120Hz is both a pro and a con.The Windows desktop and standard software applications glide smoothly around the screen. Even our 3D tools look more liquid. But when playing games: IF, and only IF, you have a very high-end computer (or play older games) that can maintain consistent 120fps+ then the image looks smoother than a comparable regular 60Hz monitor. Older titles that typically run very fast look smooth, even if they don't look graphically up to par with current titles. However, all games that run well below this (and most computers running most AAA games will never consistently perform at 120fps+) will have no benefit at all from the 120Hz. Further on this, to my eyes, all games that have widely variable framerate (eg. varying from 30fps to 90fps depending on camera frustum content) tend to look more "surging and hitching" at 120Hz than they do when played at 60Hz, due to the ability to render the wider frame rate range -- which is very distracting and a definite con to me. For games such as Crysis(2), NFS:HP and Battlefield(BC2) I'll stick with my Dell U3011 IPS for the larger size and true color. The quality of this monitor in a 27" form factor would be a nice unit, and would give a smooth desktop and good fast-twitch gaming for anyone playing CSS, L4D2, TF2, UT3, etc. |

ASUS VG Series VG236HE Black 23" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor
Cons:none
Pros:Awesome, lovely, perfect.Great colours, great versatility. Comment:
The best LCD monitor I've used. Better than my long-time favourite Samsung. 120 Hz is a must now for me. Great for games and no tearing during HD editing.Use it for everything: browsing, imag creation [Photoshop, Illustrator], editing in Premiere, Warcraft, etc.Great viewing angle and lovely looking screen. I haven't had a problem with the glossy finish.I would have liked to have found a 1920 x 1200 monitor with matte finish and 120Hz, but that just wasn't available when I needed a new monitor.Oh, also it has some great customization for colours and brightness, which I change depending on the time of day, the light in the room, and what program I am using. |

ASUS VG Series VG236HE Black 23" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor
Cons:
Maybe bad pull for me, but after 2 month i had 2 dead pixel ( wich dont bother me ) THe weakness for all the 3D vision Ready monitor ITS THE SIZE !Since the DVI cant Hold a bigger resolution than 1080p with 120 hz your stick with a 24 inch monitor.
Pros: Robust, Flashy(awesome look ) First one with a 360 moveable base and with a up and down Neck.Menu convenientColor are awesome ) on flash mode)the 3d mode gave more brightness thatn the other one like the samsung first editionHDMI nice with a xbox 360 Comment:
24 inch monitor isnt enought to really enjoy the 3D.So my point is we need more perfect 3D game available and we need new video card with Display port on them with a bigger moniter ratio. ( or HDMI 1.4) |

ASUS VG Series VG236HE Black 23" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor
Cons:
- Not a weakness but we got 2 monitors out of 2 with a one dead pixel each. Waiting on the 3rd monitor to come in.
Pros: - 120Hz- 1920x1080- HDMI, DVI and Component- Glossy screen- Swivel and height adjustment Comment:
Bought this for a customer and this monitor is amazing. I own the 2233rz myself and will be buying one of these. Better than the Samsung in all categories and with the glossy screen image quality is awesome. Recommended if you want to game in 120hz or use 3D Vision. |
This is a good monitor and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a 120Hz gaming monitor. If you are willing to wait, wait for the LED version>
