Straightforward setup. Seasoned massive lag spikes during gaming, streaming video, etc. two weeks of run about with tech support got me nowhere. Never returned a call. They had been disinterested in the whole issue. The dilemma may or may not have been the actual router, but their tech support department created me return it. Affordable and functions reasonably reasonably. The interface to configure this router is horrendous and it appears like every time you change any setting it requires to be reset. It's not gigabit! |

DD-WRT support is great. Following install I set the router as a wireless bridge. Performs perfectly!! Initial 1 I received would not connect to the net at all. Internal network worked fine. Replaced the unit and every thing was as smooth as melting butter. Silly Chicken assisted with the Wireless Bridge setup. Produced it super uncomplicated. |

performs well with my acer laptop, my desktop, and blackberry telephone had to contact my friend who is a networking tech right after 3 days of not being connected to the net. flashed to ddwrt no difficulty. this router is not user friendly with ddwrt. you have to know what you are performing or your in for a lot of trouble. i went and set up my close friends network in 45 minutes connecting his wireless printer, laptop and desktop so i know what im carrying out but i couldnt get this operating devoid of genuine help. my old dell laptop cant hold connected for some explanation. its a fantastic value for a router but if your not savy i would stay away from this item. i thought i was and i surrendered! i have a old netg_@r router that lasted me a lot of years that is certainly additional user friendly but i heard so quite a few superior points about this router and it was low in price i decided to get it. |

Excellent price tag, paid อ.99(from newegg), does the job a wireless router is supposed to do. Superior Tech support. none really except much more detail instruction on setting up to a dsl pppoe. 1st time purchasing and/or setting up a wireless router. so if you have a DSL modem make sure you set the modem to bridge. It took me around 4hours of calling back n forth from asus tech help to my dsl provider to discover that out lol ;x |

Okay, less than ฮ new for a DD-WRT router that you can flash to DD-WRT with a couple straightforward clicks? Wonderful. It took about two minutes total to flash this factor and get DD-WRT running and it runs totally fabulously. I'm going to get a number of far more and redo my complete infrastructure. They're inexpensive, fast, run cool, and have no signal flaws running DD-WRT. This is seriously an wonderful deal and I'm glad some manufacturer finally did it (kudos to Asus). As an aside, if you're NOT going to run DD-WRT, DON'T obtain this router. This is obviously meant ONLY for these that plan to open the box and right away flash with DD-WRT. The included "firmware" looks unfinished and is in essence featureless and most likely not even tested properly, apart from the firmware flashing function. It's there to offer an simple way to reflash, period. To anticipate it to essentially function as your primary property router... well... I wouldn't. Overall, truly an incredible deal for those interested in DD-WRT. Hands down the greatest deal on a piece of wireless equipment I've ever been made available. |

*dd-wrt firmware compatibility is good, however it falls brief mainly because it only supports the micro version (which I expected prior to buying). Just be aware that it doesn't have all dd-wrt attributes. a) The default firmware doesn't connect to WAN at all, even dd-wrt has trouble (hardware related?). You _ought to_ hit the reset switch following a firmware update(even even though it does this anyway), wait 5 minutes, then unplug/replug. This seems to fix it.b) The default firmware has trouble downgrading/upgrading, generally suggesting the FW file is corrupt. Retain attempting, it will eventually operate.c) I have to disable then re-enable the network card to get the router to distribute world wide web to my pc immediately after a pc shutdown or restart. It'll obtain an ip from the routers DHCP, the router just chooses not to serve internet. Would stay away from this. Looks as if ASUS swiftly threw a GUI interface on the router by default and referred to as it a firmware expecting all purchasers to upload the dd-wrt (which is very difficult due to the fact the default firmware doesn't permit it). BTW, thousands of users are complaining about these issues in the ASUS assistance forums related to this product, examine them out prior to buying. |

Easy configuration, great speed, good net interface None that I can come across. Newegg shipped the router almost right away. Could be since I am a typical buyer. Plugged it in appropriate out of the box and every little thing worked as promised. Replaced an old D-Link that was on it's final legs. With no any mods the Asus was about 40% faster with more reliable wireless connections. Then the great portion. Upgraded the firmware with DD-WRT following the directions of a different Newegg reviewer. Boosted the tx energy to 100 mW. Now it seriously rocks. If you don't want an N router yet, for certain this is the way to go. |

The auto-setup function seemed sort of neat-o for individuals who dont know how to configure items. Arrived DOA. Could not connect wirelessly, nor would the unit pull an IP from my cable modem I purchased this to replace my Asus WL-520GU that died following 9 months. Each had great reviews but apparently they both suck. Replaced this unit with a Belkin from Walmart and was up and operating in five minutes. |

Once flashed to run dd-wrt, this became a wonderful router. Wireless seems really dependable and have not noticed any connection drops. Sad to say it's restricted to only 2mb flash memory, so if you're seeking to use some of dd-wrt's extended characteristics you may well want to go with a linksys (which expenses far more). |
